The House of Representatives on Tuesday rejected a call for the evacuation of Nigerians from China as coronavirus spreads from the country to other parts of the world.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Benjamin Kalu, had moved a motion praying that Nigerians stranded in China over the health crisis be brought back to their home country.

The lawmakers, however, voted against consideration of the motion.

Several efforts made by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, to make the lawmakers listen to the content of the motion proved abortive.

But evacuate dem and do wat for dem? Dey stand a beta chance with or without d disease over there dan down here.... China has built a 1000-bed hospital furnished with full medical kits and and latest gadgets and machines to handle patients with d virus... Atleast d countries evacuating it's citizens can boast of God quarantine centres and even hospitals to handle any case dat comes back. Can we claim to provide dem with anything at all??

What would it take to certify they are not infected, then quarantine them in safe locations..

These are the little things that makes one patriotic to their country..

Is pathetic how China has fallen (temporary) due to this corona virus that seems to be a plot (biowar) against her thriving economy, ( Wuhan @ the very heart of China). A lot of investors have taken to their heels. I pray they come out strong.

BTW this has nothing to do with the animals they eat in China, as we also have a lot of Chinese restaurants in Nigeria.

This seems to be the work of some Crazy scientist genius who has gone mad with experimentation.

If the Presidency review the situation and consider to evacuate Nigerians from China GMB doesn't need those noises to get it done
However, It's a very sensitive issue that must be encouraged by the Chinese government considering the Nigeria/China relationship.

Nigerians in Wuhan and other parts of China shouldn't be allowed to return to Nigeria for now as we don't have the means to tackle the virus!

As an underdeveloped nation, it is unwise to allow them back. I recall how we tackled the Ebola virus, infected persons had to run away from their homes for FEAR OF BEING QUARANTINED!

We are still battling Lassa infection right now and we can't even tackle it properly.
