There were wild jubilations today after the Kaduna State Government paid its workers the new national minimum wage, N30,000, Igbere TV reports.

The state has officially become the first state in the country to implement the new N30,000 minimum wage.

Igbere TV recalls that in August, following the approval by the State Executive Council, Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Mr Muyiwa Adekeye, in a statement disclosed that the Kaduna State Government said it would begin the implementation of the new national minimum wage of N30,000 in September, 2019.

The government, however, said the implementation of the new minimum wage would increase the monthly wage bill of the Kaduna State Government by 33 per cent.

Confirming the development, a Kaduna-based lady identified as Maryam Abubakar said; “Kaduna State is the first state to implement the new N30,000 minimum wage.

“There is jubilation in the state as workers have started receiving salary alerts for the month of September. ”

the dwarf has lead the ways others should follow, many governors will not do this until they are forced by strike action by state unions, and expect others to implement 20000 instead

Some states will go into debt paying that eventually. Northern states takes the highest in allocation, what about states who don't take as much as the northern states?

the guy is technically right o. Allocations are based on some factors: One is population and the second is based on 13% derivation ( for oil producing states). Based on population, the North has it. If not for that 13% and other oil money, a state like Delta/ Bayelsa no go smell money wey Kaduna/ Katsina/Kano got take home

If Seyi Makinde or a PDP governor started this am sure Haters would have kill him with praises but still wailers still find a way to condemn El-Rufai same as you do when he enrolled his son in a Public skul and up till now am yet to see the same from any PDP governor though you said it is an election propaganda when he said he will enrol his son when he clocked 6yrs back then in 2017...Must you find fault in any good thing done in as much as it is from APC.... instead of wailers to reject KEROSENE for good governance back then and yet you blame Other states for your shortcomings

Illiterates every where, why do you love misguiding the public ?. How on earth do Northern state get the highest allocation. Kindly google the facts that Southern States get the highest allocation not North.
