Is someone not fed up and ready to demand for the restructuring of this country so that the police force is decentralized to state and county (local government levels) to increase the density of policing and create specialized units that can handle such tragedies. With half of the 300,000+ strong police force in the homes, offices and vehicles of politicians and the other half in the thousands of road blocks scattered on the streets and highways of the nation, there is a huge void filled with wanton crminality this present structure is not engineered to handle.

There is no country of this size and this diversity that has a unitary law enforcement structure. It can never work. The presence of the military and other para military agencies frequently doing what is essentially 'police work' is proof the time to restructure our law enforcement architecture is way past due.
