Ilorin West Local Government of Kwara led other councils in the state in the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) with a total of 175, 372 cards collected.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kwara, Malam Garba Attahiru-Madami, said this in an interview on Wednesday in Ilorin.

He said out of the 229, 841 PVCs ed in the local government, 175, 372 were collected, leaving a balance of 54, 469 cards uncollected.


Attahiru-Madami said Baruten Local Government came second in PVC collection with a total of 113, 875 out of 117, 882 ed, remaining 4, 457 uncollected.

Ilorin East came third with 101, 863 PVCs collected out of the 144, 132 cards ed in the local government, leaving 42, 269 uncollected.

He said in Ilorin South, 101, 396 PVCs were collected out of the 142, 095 people that ed, bringing the local government to the fourth position with 40, 669 uncollected.

In Asa local government, 62, 621 PVCs were collected out of 72, 942 ed, with a balance of 10, 321 PVCs.

Edu local government has 80, 609 PVC s collected out of 87, 137, while Ekiti ed 36, 320 voters with 33,442 PVCs collected, leaving a balance of 2,878 uncollected.

In Ifelodun, a total of 108, 225 PVCs were received out of which 90,422 were collected leaving a balance of 17, 693 unollected.

A total of 76, 163 PVCs were received in Irepodun local government with 61, 544 collected with a balance of 14, 619 while Kaiama ed 59, 923 PVCs, collected 57, 780, with 2, 193 uncollected.

In Moro, out of the total 69, 682 PVCs received, 63, 528 were collected with 6, 154 uncollected while in Offa, 87, 929 PVCs were received with 74, 882 collected leaving a balance of 13, 097.


A total of 36, 726 PVCs were received in Oke Ero with 28,592 collected and 8, 134 uncollected, while Oyun has 51, 213 PVCs ed with 36, 4561 collected and 14, 751 uncollected.

Patigi local government has 42, 942 PVCs collected out of the 51, 476 received, leaving a balance of 8, 534 with Isin emerging in the rear with 25, 240 collected out of the 35, 240, received leaving a balance of 10, 639.

Attahiru-Madami showed journalists the remaining 257, 431uncollected PVCs in several sealed boxes before they were taken to CBN vault for safe keeping.

On election day, if you have nothing to do, just lay down on your bed and sleep on like a new born baby. You don't need to be at the polling area for gist purposes.

I'm yet to understand the logic behind all this tribal voting thing. Leave people to vote whom ever they wish na by force ni? We need to always draw the line when it comes to sentiment, if a Yoruba person decides to vote for an Ibo man then so be it.

As far as I'm concerned the tribe is not a requirement to good governance, nor has it improved the economy of our nation. By the way, what has Osibanjo done for the the Yoruba race?
