Please I want a convincing answer to this question especially in Nigerian Army.

I have seen a view number of military personnels with Moustache but you can hardly find a military man keeping beards.

What's your say?

Nigerian navy keep Beards.

You must look neat and presentable to ur ogas at the top at all time, shave as much as u can, otherwise, doubling things awaits u!

You are allowed to grow beards if you are in the special forces.

The navy is allowed to keep beards. Also some special forces and commando units in the army are allowed to keep beards.

WHAT I NOTICED IS THAT MOST TIMES SPECIAL FORCES WEAR BEARDS,THICK ONE AT THAT

This question has received answers over four times in my Nairaland stay. Who keeps pushing it to front page?!

Most of the enermies are Arabians or better still share similar culture with them (Arabians)
Now this culture is the beard grooming, you arent considered to be a real man without possessing the fully groomed beard. Most terrorists inculcate this culture hence in other to differ from the terrorists, and recognise themselves, the military made a rule to cut off all soldiers beard so as not to look like a terrorist and so as to be recognized.

There is a very simple technical reason. Gas masks. It is designed to protect you from bio-chemical warware.

Mask is made mostly from rubber. That rubber must stick well to the skin on your face. Moustache won't prevent that. However, a beard will get between the rubber and the facial skin and allow poisons to get in. Once you inhale the poisons, you are done.

Therefore, for the gas mask to work properly, the face should not only be without a beard but clean-shaved. Only then functioning of the mask is 99% guaranteed.

Not totally correct.
Many Naval officers wear beard including Nigeria. Thats Ojukwu spotting a beard in Nigeria Army uniform not as a rebel
Some soldiers of some countries also spot beards including US Marines as shown below
