The Deeper Life Church who maintained that they are purely faith-based organization and would in no way political parties, has warned its against dragging the church into politics.


The State Overseer of the Deeper Life Church in Niger State, Pastor Toyin Araromi who spoke to a NAN correspondent, said the church does not involve itself in politics. Commenting on the recent visit of Pastor Kumuyi to President Buhari, he said the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry Worldwide was only honoring an invitation.

“Our General Superintendent was invited to minister at the Independent Day celebration and he honoured the invitation.

“He also had the honour of visiting Mr. President in his ministerial capacity. All that he did is what a godly leader should do.

“Recently too, on October 7, the Lagos State Government organised its own form of the 58th Independence celebration at the Deeper Life headquarters in Gbagada, Lagos, which was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other dignitaries.

“According to the Bible, we should give honour to whom honour is due and we are giving honour to whom honour is due.

“We are not of any political organisation. Deeper Life is neutral. We encourage our to pray for whosoever is on the throne instead of criticising the government, because it is scriptural to do so" he said.

Generally speaking, why do church people see politics as evil?

The Bible is full of political figures (kings)

If we Christians feel that politics is evil, then it's because the good people have refused to contest. Should we run away from politics because there are many bad people in it?

When those bad people take up these positions and start making laws against Christians now, we will run to church to go and pray.

There is nothing wrong in having Christians in politics. We have been blackmailed and deceived to believe otherwise.

Only ignorant people will think Deeper Life or Pastor Kumuyi will involve themselves in partisan politics or endorsement of candidates.

I can say for free that Deeper Life does not believe in politicking, the church don't even encourage at all.
