India’s Supreme Court on Thursday struck down a colonial-era ban on gay sex in India at the centre of years of legal battles.

“The law had become a weapon for harassment for the LGBT community,” Chief Justice Dipak Misra said as he announced the landmark verdict.

Section 377 of the Indian penal code, enacted by British rulers in 1861, banned “carnal intercourse against the order of nature”.

Activists had been fighting the ban since the 1990s, suffering several court reverses before Thursday’s verdict which sparked celebrations among lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender groups across the vast South Asian nation.

The problem is not gay relationships but the effects on future generations. If you look at the gay population in the U.S from 1960 and compare it to now, you'll find the number quadrupled. When you consider gay people cannot procreate, this begs the question? Why is their population growing? It's simple really, take two people with African culture and heritage and put them in China for decades, sooner or later, they'll have new perspectives and a new way of living. This is the danger with gay relationships and why I prefer just to keep my distance from them, coupled with the fact that no one can explain what causes homosexuality which leads me to believe it is more spiritual than science.

I believe they should be allowed to love themselves and even marry but I am under no obligation to mingle with them, it's not discrimination, it's just reality, we have a hard enough life as Nigerians let's not complicate it with homosexuality biko!

I am beginning to believe homosexuality is a natural occurence. It exists worldwide. Everywhere it is banned in the world was done so by Christian colonial masters. Google is a tool so don't bother mentioning my post before looking it up.
