An ancient cemetery with 40 mummies inside body-shaped stone coffins and a necklace charm bearing the hieroglyphic inscription 'happy new year' has been found in the Nile Valley, Egypt's Antiquities Ministry has announced.

Also found tombs belonging to priests of Thoth, the ancient god of the moon and wisdom, as well as family with their names in hieroglyphics.

The burial site, which is more than 2,000 years old, was discovered in the city of Minya, south of Cairo.

The ministry said on Saturday, and is the latestdiscovery in an area known to be home to ancient Egyptian catacombs.

That's the reason why we are the way we are in this country, always lazy to do anything and always allow things to be as they are while we pray to God to discover things or change things for us. it is a multi-billion -dollar industry. It attracts tourists and foreign exchange to the Egyptian economy. They won't give it up ooooo. It is like the oil industry in Nigeria. Everybody likes to be part of it
