ABUJA – THE Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has directed all state Commissioners of Police to immediately disarm militias in the various states they are in charge of.

This was even as he warned state governments against arming militias to protect citizens of their states, saying no law in the land empowers them to do such.

He said the Nigerian constitution made it clear that only the security agencies were responsible for carrying arms and ammunition, vowing that those who violate the law in whatever guise would be dealt with accordingly.

Idris, who gave the directive Thursday, a meet with Commissioners of Police and officers above, was however, silent on whether the same applies to herdsmen, who have been not only been accused of carrying sophisticated weapons but also being responsible for killings across the country for over some time now.

When will the igp give order to disarm terrorist herdsmen carrying ak47 and other sophisticated weapons or are they now above the law.

When we were shouting about Nigeria's security being in the hands of the Fulani's, people couldn't see the handwriting on the wall due to their hatred for Eastern Region, we were called 5%ter's, now see where it has landed us. But, the truth is that I'm happy we all are in this together, Fulani herdsmen does not know whether your region voted massively for their brother to become the president or that the VP is from your region, they will kill your people, even invade your farmland, damage your crop's with their cattle's and the court will sanction you to even pay them millions of Naira.
