Hello everyone,

Following the highly successful outcome of the maiden edition of the Xfire Nairaland Undergraduate Quiz Competition held last year, I hereby formerly declare open the 2nd Edition.

The first edition was highly competitive with about 300 screened applicants partaking in the online test. The eventual winner, a 400 level Medicine and Surgery student from UNIBEN (exe0) received a total cash prize of N170, 000 (N60,000 from myself ed by N100, 000 from InvertedHammer and N10, 000 from Ariel20.

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placed winners also received various cash prizes while the 6th to 15th placed winners received N1, 000 recharge cards each courtesy of GraceBestowed who contributed N10, 000.

In the maiden edition, final year students were exempted. But in this edition and subsequent ones, it will be thrown open to all undergraduates. So expect the program to be more competitive.

This year, the top 3 students will receive the following cash prizes (subject to a minimum score of 70%):

Winner: N70,000

1st Runner Up: N40, 000

2nd Runner Up: N30, 000

A cash prize of N10, 000 each will be given to the 4th and 5th best as consolation.

This year and going forward, I will be stepping down as the overall coordinator of the competition. A well respected mod in Education section Richiez (Agbara Richard Obinna) will be the overall coordinator with Odunayo providing .

Richiez will provide details on the criteria for selection, modalities of the tests, registration period, etc. in the post below this and follow-up threads. He (alongside Odunayo) will also be responsible for attending to your enquiries.

Other well wishers are free to pledge additional financial for the winners.

CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION:

Eligible participants must

1. Be a Nairaland Member with ed not later than 30th June, 2017.

2. Have made at least 6 posts on Nairaland prior to the date of commencement of the quiz

3. Have never been placed on Ban by a Nairaland in the education section.

4. Be a Nigerian undergraduate in any tertiary institution in Nigeria.

Since the compulsory one-year IT program is a valid period in polytechnic education, if they can prove that they finished their ND programme not earlier than year 2016, and they meet the other criteria stated, then they should be eligible.
