Well, that best 11 is made of great players. I follow African club football and the combination is great. Those players are good players and the mix with European players is perfect.

Also, CAF didn't do the selection, fans did. Fans made their choice and I mean fans who follow both club footballers in Africa and Europe.. We only follow African footballers in Europe as Nigerians.. We can't judge fairly then. Those who voted and selected the best 11 players are very familiar with both club football in Africa and Europe.

It is because there is a category known as best african based player award. This means that there are fantastic players based in the continent u wouldn't see on the African footballer of the year award category but u can find them on the best 11 players.

Fans voted and I'm sure u didn't vote. Next time try and vote. What u need to understand is that in southern and northern part of Africa, the fans follow their local league more than they follow the European leagues.. This makes them push their players for such awards more.

those of you saying sallah deserved the award, did you ask yourself what measure was use for the award? for victor Moses not to make the 3rd final list it say a lot of this award. the last time i check the award is for 2017 performance not 2018. were was sallah when Moses was winning best player of the months, man of the match and even won the league for Chelsea, Moses contributed a lot to Nigeria qualifying for world cup and so on. sallah performance did not qualified him to win the award this year.

Imagine Moses and Mane absent in the finest X1. I think north africans voted in more larger numbers than fans from other parts of Africa, that explains the preponderance of players of North African origin and North African club players.

National coaches and captains did the voting, and anything is positive in voting.

When voting is involved, even the worst player can win an award. All he needs to do is have a large fanbase and plenty friends.

That is probably how Mane finished second.
