A bird at hand is worth more than two in the bush.

You already got Pharmacy (a very competitive course) and you are trying to leave it for Medicine (another very highly competitive course).

See OP, there are thousands of people trying to get medicine so your chances are quite slim, in fact, the chances of everyone who applies for medicine is generally slim considering the number that applies.

It is better you go for pharmacy.
Forget about combining both, you won't cope. So don't even think in that direction again.

And one more thing, don't cling on to the idea that medicine is this or that. Whatever thing you are imagining about medicine that is making you more inclined in that direction, forget it. The Nigeria system has ruined medical practice and it is quite frustrating for doctors practicing in this country. That is why many are leaving to practice abroad.
So unless Nigerian health sector changes for good within the next 7 years or you intend practicing abroad, I wouldn't advice you to hold on tightly to medicine.

Please guys i have been itted to pharmacy in ANSU but i am already doing med/sug through JUPEB, as it stands i don't want to leave either of them. My plan is to combine the two of them cause from my understanding Jupeb has same course outline with year one (i may be wrong though), i know it could be very stressfull. I dont know the degree [of stress] honestly this could be very costly paying both jupeb and pharmacy school fees. I also heard that i can pay acceptance fee then write to the VC to delay my ission to 2018 towards the end of my jupeb program, i don't really know what to do i want to complete this jupeb program and also i can't let pharmacy go just like that.

Please i need experience advice. thank u guys!

You that time go learn better job you go thank me later

Because Nigeria nor be country wey person fit proud about education shocked

You got ission for pharmacy is different from Jupeb med/surg.

you'll end up getting yourself worked up if you don't focus on one thing. Your productivity might be lesser if you do both at the same time, you might end up performing lower than you expect because you are trying to measure up in both areas.

My Advice

Do Pharmacy.

Drop medicine and study pharmacy, when you finish go to the village and study medicine under that herbal doctor in your village, it is only for one year

Go to the Educational Counsellor in the school of your study and ask him for advice. Only him can truly help you, no one here has really been in your situation before, they will just advice you according to what they feel is right.

Take up the pharmacy... If u really desire medicine and surgery, do enough jacking in 100l and make A's all through, then u can do a change of course to medicine and surgery with ur good grade and strong connection

You rarely see a department releasing their best students to other departments except the connection is way up there ......

Go for the Pharmacy.
joenor(m): 1:37pm On Dec 15, 2017
My dear you can't serve two master at same time... Make a wise choice now and know what you want for yourself, this dancing to JEPUG or what's it call n the other school, comm'n you should know what you need. if Pham is what you love doing then! but if the med n surg is what you prefer to the Pham.. so? take one n leave the other. or go on with the one you have been with n move on abeg.

Honestly speaking, most people I know that studied pharmacy ended up becoming sales reps.

Let me give an advice or two here.
They say you can't serve 2 masters agreed and a bird in hand is worth more than 2 still in the bush.
It is better you continue with ur current course of study and don't write to the vc to deferred ur ission till 2018.
If you know what is good for you go for it,we may advise you and you may see it as inconsequential but you are the one that have the final say.

Anyway Predmine20 was here.

Pay the acceptance fee and defer the Pharmacy ission.

Then continue with you Med/Sug, this you are essentially killing two birds with one stone. Don’t be tricked into tackling both at the sametime, your performance on both will suffer.

You would loss anything by deferring the Pharmacy, success in life and getting job is not determined by who graduated first.

I will suggest you pay acceptance fee and other necessary fees and defer the ission for 1 year, by then you would have finished you Jupeg. Then you will be in a better position to make good decision.

what is Jupeb?

Pay your pharmacy ission fee, apply for deferment and continue with you Jupeb and if you do not meet the 5.0 CGPA, then you can fall back on the pharmacy. If your CGPA is not 5.0 now, no point of deferring the pharmacy program

As a medical student I suggest you leave jupeb for pharmacy, it's somewhat difficult getting itted to study medsurg via jupeb and now you already have pharmacy, but then if you find it hard comprehending this, you can defer the pharmacy this year and if medicine dint work out after your jupeb, you go back to pharmacy.
thanks

I would advice you to go pay your acceptance and sch fee for pharmacy and after that go apply for deferment so you can continue the following year just in case anything happens.
thedondada(m): 1:54pm On Dec 15, 2017
Go for pharmacy. You will have 4th opportunity to hustle by yourself once you graduate and probably do a follow up course.

It's basically trading which if you are good you will make a lot of money.

Medicine isn't sure for you so why waste time. Besides many young doctors are running away from Nigeria do you want to go to school and your plan is to escape from the country? Why wait then.

Pharmacy all the way.

First, search your mind for what you love to do better between the two courses and combine with your future ambition. Do not choose because 'I love the two'; your best may not be achieved if you have to run them at thesame time. Learn to forgo what sometimes appear better but rather the one that will make you happy when you are fulfilled and ready to continue your life with. , you cannot be thesame person at different time. Take your time, it's sometimes dicey. I wish you the very best

My own advice is first of all, pray and seek God's face to know exactly where to go and what to do. Which one do you have more ion for? Med/Surg or Pharmacy? I'm sure you know that both of them are not the same. Just go for the one you are in love with, naturally and leave the other one, that way, you will focus on one thing and direct all your energies to it, that way, you'll come out the best you ever could.
