I'm just marvelled that this is a project from a University. Not even a company. Nigerian universities (Engineering Depts). Take note. This is how a car is supposed to be at least.

Saw this vehicle yesterday, and hailed the move towards renewable energy as an alternatives to fossil fuels.

But from looking at the vehicle, it looks ugly, and the speed range allocated to it, in my view, is ridiculous.

What happens, for instance, if you're in a place, like southern Africa, where you have lots of wild animals, or even a vehicle breakbown?

It's only when all these(more charge stations, increased battery range, and cost reductions) are sorted out by the auto guys, that this "African made for vehicle" can be sustainable.

Bear in mind an electric car technology is still new and most electric cars will be brand new. How many rural dwellers can afford a new car, let alone the one of high quality?

bro who talked about high quality here? I didnt say anything about high quality on my post. All am saying is dat the car should at least get a nice design so that anybody who would be buying one would be happy to get it. I dnt know why africa is associated with cheap things, who told you that Nigerians who dwell in tthe rural area would not afford to buy a costly electric car if its of high quality? Do you think everyone in Africa is broke? This is how these pple keep making this country backward. Those oyinbos wey build this thing would neva sell this rubbish in their country because nobody will buy and they cannot even afford to produce a quality one in the 1st place. What they wanted was to make a quick profit with the little capital they have and they figured out that Africa would be the best place to make this kind of profit. They are not the only pple doing this, Infinix and tecno are also doing it and they make huge profits selling craps that arent even up to the standard in their own country here in Africa. To them, Africa is a dumping ground for rubbish, you make money dumping rubbish. If i were the president of Nigeria, i would barn the importation of Rubbish products just like the one up dia in Nigeria. If pple cannot afford to buy quality stuff, then they dont wanna use it in the 1st place and they should forget about it. Even if we cannot produce those items, we can always buy. Its not a crime to petronize only quality products from other countries. No country has it in all aspects, even USA. peace.
