A policeman,David Akai, posted to Maiduguri has taken to social media to call out IGP for 'indirectly' converting policemen in Maiduguri to Internally Displaced Persons.According to him,the accommodations given to them are demoralising. He also revealed how IGP is exploiting them using the list submitted to FG and UN.He wrote...

'INTERNALLY DISPLACED POLICEMEN. policemen on special duty here at Maiduguri are the internally displaced persons carried away from their families and placed under some unbearable environmental, social, economical and psychological conditions. Policing conditions in this 21st century has been upgraded, modernized and given a better working condition than what you are seeing below' .

Though the condition the police are subjected to is not good at all in Maiduguri, it is professionally unethical for the police to snap these and post them with is real handle on social media.

The kind of wickedness being mated to the junior officers by the senior ones are unimaginable.
Thats why many of these officers retire with strock & other strange illness.
The evil men do lives with them.
Just look at officers of the npf, is just a big shame & the oga 's on top are eng themselves in aircoditioned offices.

The way and manner our police officers are treated & lowly regarded is so unfortunate & regrettable.

This is a very weighty allegation.

the FG should set up an independent body to look into the welfare of Police Officers posted to the Northeast with a view towards addressing the challenges especially accommodation for these gallant security agents.

In America a boy or girl can stand and proudly say that my father is a cop, but its a different story here in Nigeria.
.
you would not believe that his pains will not be attended to just as NYSC Corps have cried and it fell on deaf ears
