The t ission Matriculation Board [JAMB] in a bid to highlight the major pr-registration tips to candidates has disclosed that there is no more room for candidates to select two public university during online registration starting from 2017.

But If a candidate wishes to select a public University as their degree awarding choice, then they are only allowed to select a private University as another choice.

What we mean by the above statement is that you can only select 1 public & 1 private university as 1st and 2nd choice.

This information was actually disclosed via the official twitter handle of the board.

If this is true , JAMB is useless. Na by force to pick private universities? Na them go help them pay school fees?

I think it's a wise decision. Most public schools if not all do not it students that choose them as second choice.

It is now clear D@ D chance of gaining ission into a public uni is now tougher dan getting an Ó level result I really pity D coming generations cos even D merit list of all institutions will only it @ most 100 4 each dpt leaving others d@ can't afford Goin 2 a public uni with no choice 2 either wait till D following year or go and learn a trade cos some Polytechnics d@ I'm sure of will not give u ission if u do not choose dem as most preferred.

Is it d@ Jamb is now mkting private uni cos I'm not understanding. With D min wage of #18,000, a level 7 public servant can not afford D skool fees of even D cheapest private uni in Nigeria let alone D notable one's only if D person engages in fraud.

This is very wrong. What happens to students who can't afford the fees of private unis even if given ission?

Will the jamb registrar pay the private school tuition or why impose such burden on poor candidates?


Or maybe there are incentives in place to help candidates who cant afford private schools?
