The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has vowed to ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, takes over power from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.

Fayose made the remark, shortly after his counterpart from Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson announced him as the new Chairman of the PDP governors’ forum, on Friday in Abuja.

Speaking on his new role, Fayose said he accepted the responsibility to work as chairman of the Forum.

The governor promised to work with stakeholders, including the National Assembly, to restore the glory of the PDP.

According to Fayose, “I take this responsibility at a time the party needs somebody to stand up. I am sure you all know that we will do it to represent Nigerians well.

“It is a call to pull the walls of Jericho down; it is a call to make a difference.

“I want to assure you that within the next few months, the mobilisation, the consultation will be so effective and there will be a new beginning for our party – different and enriching.

“I will take over from where he stopped. Come 2019, we will take over again; we are going to come back again.”

Earlier, Dickson while making the announcement said, “As an integral part of the discussion, the governors of our party, among ourselves, as well as those who were unavoidably absent, unanimously appointed a new PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman.

“In line with the tradition of our party, we agreed to appoint our colleague, the most senior governor in PDP, Ayodele Fayose, the governor of Ekiti as new Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

“You are all aware that he is a committed party man, doing a wonderful job in his state. He is well experienced and committed to the ideals of our party.

“We have all unanimously appointed him as the new Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum to coordinate the affairs and activities of our forum and to work and collaborate with other structures of our party,” Dickson said.

fayose has started playing his style of politics again. Hope he knows nigerians are not mumu to be trick and fall to his propanganda. Well I want to inform him that after he leave ekiti state government house next year d Efcc and other anti corruption will arrest him for his serious case that's hanging on his neck for corruption. If not some things in the constitution that's shielding him he should have been in the jail by now. Instead of him to focus on series of issues that's confronting his state. He has started campaign for pdp already. Even if no one is voting for apc again pdp won't be allow in the government. Nigerians will rather vote for another party that's different from pdp and apc. Fayose is as useless as saraki in the senate.

This guy think of himself, higher than what he is.. Nigeria is not a state with 8 local government, whose citizen can be fooled by riding okada or eaten beans on the street....If election is done only the Western region, he can't win second position not to talk of having a leading votes.

Most Nigerians are politically neutral.
Most Nigerians want a vibrant political environment.
Most Nigerians want another strong political party to exist side by side the ruling party.
Most Nigerian are presently disenchanted with government at the center.
If elections are to hold today, most Nigerians would prefer another party to be at the helm of affairs.
Most Nigerians know that it takes a credible, strong and viable political party to wrestle power from the ruling party

It really saddens most neutral Nigerians who are eagerly awaiting a brand new PDP that has what it takes to wrestle power from the center to see that the party they are hoping could be a suitable alternative is continuing in self dilution.

Take it from me, there is no politically neutral Nigeria that is voting based on conscience, patriotism, desire for economic & national growth that will consider a party whose daily image is centered on a Wike and Fayose.

Why is PDP not willing to move away from their past which is marred by thuggery, impunity, imposition and corruption and give Nigerians hope for change for the better?
Why would PDP want a Fayose, do they think that any reasonable Nigerian youth would have Fayose as role model?

For PDP to re-brand, it must move its image away from Fayose and Wike, those names repulse sensible Nigerians.

Fayose takes pride in being a fool. Buhari under APC may not have been performing well. But that will never make us think PDP was anyway better. Fayose is a fool thinking Nigerians would go back to the PDP.
