Don't let us attach sentiments to anything, it happens in most award shows all over the world, including Grammy.
Nigerians we like to complain so much, we have bad mouthed headies and when it dies a natural death, will see the award shows that will match it.
Let's always our own, most of all those artiste only do what they do because they are known and making money, last year Adekunle Gold, Lil kesh all were there to grab this award, this year they be forming big boys...rubbish!

The winner is base on voting from fans so I wonder why people always complain. For God sake, only one person will win.
I tink Olamide last year rubbish stunt had impact on the turn out. He is the least expected not to show up after his apology early this year.

Exactly. That is the major reason, too many concerts now, and like Bovi said, these artistes have already been paid. I don't think its pride that made them absent. They should have just fixed it for January. And by the way why have a yearly award twice in one year?

Well my point was if they valued this award they would postpone that show to attend or at least come late for either of the events. Last year the mavins crew stormed the awards from an event and so did many other artistes. This year, many of them decided to put it out of their schedule totally because they chose not to give a Bleep about the awards.

What this people fail to realize is thar artistes can actually fade.

WandeCoal is yet to gain that ground he was on even with all the tracks he is released this year, I don't think he was nominated in any category self.

Over the years, the headies has been one of Nigerias biggest leading awards so far with different exciting categories.

But this year has been also so far, be titled the most boring headies awards ever because most artiste weren't around especially the nominees.

The simple reason for this act of what some people call "stupidity" is because of pride. Some of the artiste felt like the headies was a useless award for stars so they didn't see the use coming.

That's why this year if you observed, most of the top artiste that were absent in the headies didn't even or made efforts to be voted in the awards this year


So this is in no doubt the dumbest, dryest and most useless headies awards ever!

I get your point but the few artistes I know are so busy right now and the matter was tabled before animasawun that he should try and postpone it till January 2 but he didn't listen

Those artists had no good reason to boycott the headies but pride. They have failed to realise that there is politics in music now. Like Beyonce calling the organisers of an award and threatening not to perform unless she is given an award in which she was nominated alongside Kanye. They messed up by not coming. your own.

You see! That's the problem. Boogey will always find it difficult to win anything tangible because on this side of the planet, pangolo music and sub-par or unintelligent lyrics that you do not have to crack your brain for reign supreme.

The problem is the so called rap music fans in Nigeria, just rant online about artists staying true to rap. They rarely buy Albums of people like boogey,mode 9 they will not pay for it online either and be looking for free s. Will hardly call in during live radio music shows for those kind of songs to be played and will not invite them for shows/concerts.
They leave every thing to people who actually listen to so-called pangolo music and unintelligent lyrics. These ones actually attend these concerts and call into live radio shows to have their favourite pangolo song played. They actually their artistes physically and not make noise about it online.
