BY Soni Daniel Barely 72 hours after turning herself into the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Federal Judge, Rita Ofili-Ajimogobia, may face the full weight of the law for alleged corrupt practices.

Sunday Vanguard learnt her residence was raided, last night, by operatives  of the EFCC during which ‘vital’ documents that may point to criminal breaches were allegedly retrieved. A top operative said that bank s of the woman and those of her children were also taken away by the security operatives during the raid.

One source said, “A search was conducted on the residence of Justice Rita Ofili- Ajumogobia by operatives of the EFCC and the search yielded documents that would assist the commission’s investigations, including bank s in her name and those bearing the names of her children and property title both in Nigeria and abroad”.

The female judge had been having a running battle with the EFCC, including the claim she took shelter in a Lagos hospital, before turning in herself last Thursday. She had been accused by a litigant of corruption before the National Judicial Council, NJC, moved against her early this year but was not removed from her post. However, the EFCC has taken up the gauntlet to make her to face prosecution for graft-related matters. It was not clear last night if the agency would charge her to court and when that would be. Many other judges are being investigated over graft by the agency.

This judge is educated, no doubt; but learned, I doubt.
Introvert says EFCC may not find anything because the house may have been cleaned. Are you her cleaner?

The funny thing about searches is that u just never know what the security agencies will find. The things that seem ok to u may turn out to be highly indicting when merged with already obtained evidence

If they tell me they recovered any thing in this woman's house then I know they are not telling us the truth.
She is not that daft. Enough time had ed for her to clean up her house.

EFCC may be too stingy to plant some money in her house like the DSS did to other judges.

During Obasanjo's days, anti-corruption war was fought and it didn't affect the economy.
This recession of a thing is actually caused by Buhari's focus on corruption alone.

Well they might not find any cash but her bank document amd property papers are enuff evidence

With bvn, all they need is one number and all linked s will pop up. Then any transaction that might have taken place will be detected and then she has to explain whixh lucrative business she has been running.

Mayb she too had been selling rice

We need corruption because it builds hospitals and research centres.

Corruption oils the wheels of industry and promotes excellence.

Corruption is what we need to be like the superpowers.

Let us give corruption a chance.

Oh wait...
