This is a quick slap in the face to everyone who doesn't know what respect is. A woman who compares you with her Ex not only belittles you, but also tears you down psychologically instead of building you up.

Try to get around acceptable ways of improving your performance.

If all these above fail, even when you know you have done your best to satisfy her. As unethical as it sounds, use reverse psychology on her.

If I feel enthusiastic about doing a particular job, I have fun while doing it and so it doesn't feel like hard work whereas in the absence of enthusiasm a lighter task becomes rather cumbersome.

Yes. I will tell her to focus on improving her skills rather than the annoying way the message was communicated. Its annoying but there he has it.
