I agree with you. But have you handled Both Note 8 and Redmi 8. If you're not a gamer, Redmi 8 is excellent for you honestly. I use a Redmi Note 8. I bought my mum a Redmi 8 4/64GB today. Asides from the Snapdragon difference, it's a good buy. My mind keeps saying "you should have bought Redmi 8 and saved like 15k" but I don buy am.
Stock camera is good.

1. I used unlimited glo data (currently making waves #500 for one week) and ed about 5 different custom roms so I want to start experimentation.
2. I recently bought mi band 4 but whenever I connect the band to my phone after about 10mins it becomes very hot and my battery drains faster than the speed of light so I want to try another rom.
