I am not new to os tweaking, but i am new to xiaomi phones, this my redmi note 7 is my 1st xiaomi phone, what I learnt so far is that xiaomi has a lot of protection on their phones, which could make things go awry, this is my learning phase, that's why it's important for me to learn from other people's experience. MTK devices are flexible to tweak anyhow, apart from xiaomi phones being a qualcom device, xiaomi have put protection such as anti-roll back, long bootloader unlock wait time and edl authorisation in place. All these pose several difficulties, i will become a p ro with xiaomi devices soon.

me I Shaa know that the only way you people will make me start all this tweaking stuff is if you dash me extra phone. Apart from the threat of a hard sand brick, the headache of momentarily disabling the phone is too much for me. Me that my patience is near zero. Good news Xiaomites, after being afraid and much foot dragging, I have just updated my Redmi Note 5 China Version with Global ROM installed to Android Pie (9) through OTA without issues. Thank you guys for your help, I really disturbed you people.

Kmy other phone that I hav been using for over 2yrs now, I hav never removed the mmc in it to put in another phone). This option might be doable. Can you brief me pls or direct me on the path to equip myself with relevant knowledge?
