Proven what? What did they prove?

I understand the sentiment though. We are all Africans and we love the AFCON so naturally we our own. However, you and I know the honest truth. No football fan in his right mental state will think that Afcon and Euros are equal in of quality.

Ani na still you dey bring in that equal talk. Nobody raised equality.

World cup is major
Club world cup is major
Copa and Afcon is major

Does that mean all are equal?

This has nothing to do with sentiment. I still love the Rio Ferdinand statement. It is the voters and journalists for these individual awards that are sentimental towards a major tournament and it is hugely due to bias and ignorance. They should goan step up. Afcon too will step up each tournament. But to think na we wey dey afcon as major dey sentimental?? Seriously?? 😂😂😂😂😂

colonial mentality. The EPL should go on a fews weeks break just like some other European league to accommodate the Afcon which is every 2yrs.

You're still not getting it, play Afcon final this week and League decider next weekend versus Tottenham undermines the tournament. We need exclusivity.

"EPL not like some other European League" brother the whole football world doesn't care anymore.

FIFA is rescheduling your tournament to house a club world cup that nobody likes. Can they try that for the EUROS or Copa América?

The UCL with the new format saw games played on 21st January, first time in history. Not dead-rubber. Games that decide your European fate.

2025 AFCON despite starting earliest we have ever seen in December will finish January 18th.

That's 3 DAYS BETWEEN playing against Senegal in final and playing Bayern Munich for a place in round of 16.

Where's the relevance of the tournament?

Typical victim mentality of its me against the world. Brother it's you against yourself.
Curb your black supremacy.

Is it the white man that "invented" the seasons and climatic conditions in Africa as well?

And what does that have to do with adapting, senor?

This is not true, the epl was on side by side with Afcon this year and still Afcon was trending in the uk. You’re still living in the past.

With the way European clubs now publicly celebrates their players return from Afcon, that’s shows a significant shift from how the competition is now viewed. Even cynics like caragher can’t change that perspective for the clubs.

Trending is not my goalpost here brother.
The AFCON hit a record 2bn views last year just 3bn less than this year's euros so we are definitely expanding.

I'm not talking audience, I'm talking attention and prestige.

Eric Chelle's meme from last year is as big as any image from EUROS and that wasn't even the most iconic picture from the tournament, so no doubting popularity.
We scored exact number of goals as euros, so no doubting entertainment.
Morocco set a new record at WC 22, so no doubting quality.

Give us the attention and prestige this growth deserves

You have the attention already, you’re the one one thinking it’s not enough cos you feel the entire world should shut down for the tournament. Already some leagues even have Christmas break that period. The Brits I know are very haughty people and don’t bend easily cos that’s their character so are you suggesting we go into war with them to have our way? The epl is business, Afcon too is business they can continue to coexist.

What's all this brit this, brit that talk.

I gave example of UCL.
There's also Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 who no longer take lengthy breaks. Close 24th resume Jan 3.

And who's asking you to compete with them?

And when I say attention
There's difference between hearing someone and listening to someone.

After attention, we seek prestige.

What prestige again do you need when the clubs now publicly celebrate the return of their players from the competition. The thing you’re looking am not even sure cos you have even itted above that Afcon is expanding so what next? The clubs should relocate all their players to Africa to watch Afcon?

I've said it repeatedly that Ekong is a potential super eagles coach.

I hope he gets his badges and goes into coaching when he hangs his boots.

I want to do away with the '94 set of coaches so bad, and I think Ekong is showing the brightest potential amongst this set.

Without Drogba, Chelsea won't smell their first UCL in 2012.

These top quality stars played in the Afcon back in the 2000s and 2010s and some are telling me those Afcon editions were not top quality to add to a player's rating globally? Funny takes.

Add Babs Ibeji to that mix, without him in that midfield, Bayern would had carried their a Pokas, a City and their a stadia go 😁😁😁😁

If he fancies coaching, sure he would be a fantastic one after he retires from playing football.
He very sound upstairs, professional to the core and a good leader !

the period of colonialism is supposed to be over. We don't have to bend over to accommodate the whites. The Asians did not move their date, we will not move ours.

I don't know if ' I get am before" club is right for him. Cos teams battling relegation may not be the best, no CL, Europa or even Conference league, infact dem need prayer and fasting to avoid playing in the championship at this rate. Abi how u see am Charlee?

I have faith in the coach and will only advise the nff to retain him even if he fails to qualify for the WC though team performance during the remain WCQ will be the determinant factor

He is a young coach with modern ideas who I believe will do well with the quality of players we have if ed and given enough time to build a team

Our US 94 bunch are egotistic who I think doesn’t want any super eagles set to match or sur their achievements in Nigerian football history

🚨Victor Osimhen wants the same salary he is earning at Napoli and will not go below - it is around £10m net per season.

Manchester United really like Osimhen, but it depends on the budget they will have this summer. #MUFC [@FabrizioRomano]
