It is a known fact that there is a big Islamic School and Mosque in Afikpo and for years they have been trying to convert the local Igbos to Muslims. I don't think it is as high as 80% yet but they have made some coverts. I don't know what is wrong with Ebonyi people but I the choice of anyone to choose their religion. Such an Islamic School is also in Uwani in Enugu but you will never see any Igbo step their foot in there. I think that the four other Igbo States have neglected Ebonyi for a long time and it is time to bring them fully back in the fold. We should not for get that Abakiliki people and present day Ebonyi state were by far the largest producers of food in the old eastern region.

There is reasonable Muslim presence in Afikpo but not 80%. My wife is Afikpo. I learnt they have Islamic school also and marries some indegenous people.

My Igbo friend told me that Igbo culture and Islam are immiscible, they can never mix.

Igbo are peaceful live and lets live people, but Islam wants to force you to do things it's own way, that's why we yorubas call the religion "Imale" which means "hold or forcing people on the ground".

Afiko are Christians, Saudi Arabia just decided to build Islamic school their for muslims in the region, we even have a mosque in Onitsha and aba, but the people are blind to them, sunday they are all at church., except the foreigners in their midst.

They are less than 1% to be sincere. Unless u are counting Northerners in the East as igbos. The entire Igbo population is 95% Christian, 4.5% Traditionalist.
