Police officers decide to the force for various reasons, but a desire to help others is often one of them. CSP Abba Kyari, Geography graduate from the University of Maiduguri, works with the Nigerian Police Force. The Maiduguri-born officer is the Commander of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Lagos State Chapter. Over the years, he has been honoured with awards for his brilliance, vigilance and gallantry. His intelligence for hunting and tracking down armed robbers, kidnappers and other criminals have endeared him to many Nigerians. Kyari led the team that arrested kidnappers who abducted mother of the former Minister of Finance, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala in Delta State. He was also the leader of the team that arrested notorious South West armed robber, ‘Godogodo.’ Kyari led the team that arrested the kidnapped kids of the Orekoyas. Also the Lekki, Ikorodu, Festac and Agbara bank robberies. Kyari's most recent achievement is the arrest of the kidnappers and rescue of the Ikorodu school girls on Sunday, 6th March 2016.
