I hope the government / ministry juxtaposed the effects of such changes on the citizens ![]() I also hope they are aware that some Governors are planning to reduce workers salaries (claiming that 18k is too much for a worker) while they Loot in billions. Which ever way, i just pray for a better tomorrow for Nigeria 16 Likes 2 Shares |

Absolutely. However the way to drive such through is when government provides more houses and fund more mortgages . 47 Likes 1 Share |

I agree with him but this is for more stable law abiding countries, its just that people will take advantage of the situation and start giving excuses of salary not being paid thats why they cant pay rent and in a country like Nigeria where a govt can owe up to 11 months salary, I dont think thats a good idea. So i rather collect my money upfront. Business is Business 86 Likes 3 Shares |

Absolutely. Things like this puts pressure on people and eventually they get involved in corrupt practices in order to pay rent. Not an excuse though, bit any policy that is friendly to the common man should be welcomed.

Nonsense. has the govt ever helped the landlords in any way? They buy land u collect tax, omonile collect their own. They have to fix the roads by themselves. Buy cement and pay for labour complete. when they finish everything without any from govt, then you come out to tell them how to collect rent. Where were u when they were sourcing for funds? Did u provide any installment plans for purchase of building materials. Fashola, I know you tried in lagos, even though u used just 30% of funds available to lagos state. Now u act like u have pity for the poor. Which of the building projects you put up for the masses in lagos can the poor afford? How much does a flat go for? Now your talking of house rent. You forget that the landlord will pay the 40% increase u intend to add to electricity? You forget the landlord has to buy fuel after u remove subsidy? Or you don't know the landlord has to buy dollars at 260 to import items to sell? You have comion for the poor, yet you re brand website with 78m. Do you know that you would have empowered over 150 enteprenurs with 500k from that 78m. Instead you approved 78m for a website that has no value to the people. Abeg make we hear word. 156 Likes 16 Shares |

he's very correct. Its only in Nigeria and some other primitive African countries this happens in. In the western world, house rent is paid monthly. On no will your house owner ask for more. mekaboy: 20 Likes |

Millerz:In western world salary are paid monthly as at when due. What will a tenant tell the landlord when he is owned 10 months salary. If you are a landlord/lady will you allow your tenant(Govt worker owned 10 months salary) to stay put on such ground? Be sincere. One is ok for me thou. 18 Likes 1 Share |

Makes a lot of sense yea. People like Sam Adeyemi started this campaign years ago. More importantly, house rentz are hitting the roof. The cost is crazy!!! Houses that were mostly inherited o 2 Likes |

Millerz: In western world you can be a landlord on Morgage, rent the house and pay your mortgage till the house is yours. It does not happen in Nigeria. There is no omonile in western world. 10 Likes |

For this theory to be practical, I will suggest the following...simple law of demand and supply Increase the supply of housing by building new towns in each local governments of about 10000 apartments each and be collecting your rent monthly. If this is not done, please leave homeowners to do their thing. Road u no build, Light u no give, water -no way, security - self assigned, education -pay for yourself. Oga Fashola, please do the needful before advising homeowners. Flood the streets of Nigeria with affordable housing and then we will see why landlords will not comply. Tenant: I want to rent 2 bedroom apartment Landlord: Rent is 400k per annum, 2yrs, Agreement and commission Tenant: Cant you take monthly pay? Landlord: No Tenant: Ok I will go and rent at "Fashola Estate" or @ "Buhari estate" Landlord: Please come back, you can pay daily sef!!! Do good for good to come your way 34 Likes 1 Share |
