This happened last year but a similar occurrence made me .

I used one of my aunties car to run an errand (a high end car tho) , mid-way I had a call so I had to slow down so I can pick the call. I was on it when I noticed two pretty ladies standing right in front of me, well since am not really the womanizing type I just looked away from their direction so as not to send a wrong message, the next thing I heard was someone screaming out my name "faith!!!!!! , is that you? I was surprised when I saw a face I was familiar with. Yes, I her, it's that same face I crushed on all through my high school days, her name is nneka and she was a class ahead of me, I knew I was just wasting my time cause she was the type that won't even date a student, always seeing herself as one high-school sorority queen like that. I never could imagine she would scream my name like that, but I didn't know I was in for a surprise.

She came towards me, we greeted real good, but her comments actually induced a mixed feeling in my belly, the next thing she said was I don't call her on phone nau, what? This was a girl I didn't dare walk up to, talkless of to ask for cell phone digit, I really felt like laughing but I didn't want to hurt her, I played along and told her I lost my phone and my s too, before I could get through with my explanation she asked me to call out my cell phone number. I gave her my cell phone number and gave her an excuse that I was in a haste,so she would let me go.

Before I could move 2feets my phone rang, I picked and was surprised to find out it was still thesame girl

I swear if I was trekking this girl for behave like say she no see me, but why are ladies like this?

The worst part is if you are with car, you can sleep with them for transport money but if trekking, you have to prove yourself by spending first, talking a lot and wearing nice clothes. No of these matters when you are behind a wheel

I'm inclined to think it's coz of women's innate and habitual urge for comfort and the inane believe that having a car connote affluence. However, some other thing in me is telling me it's coz of the persisting hardship and poor economic welfare that's responsible for such behaviour.

In most advanced nations, having a car doesn't make people assume one to be wealthy as it cost nothing. So, the need to impress or attract ladies attention coz you own one doesn't come into play.

Agreed, some ladies might still feel impressed, especially when the car is a flashy one, with mobility here but they don't make it that obvious like their Nigerian counterparts who doesn't shield their love for toys and materialism.

Why do guys on NL always see their exes when they are richer or driving nice cars? what about the other side of the story?

I tell myself this.. Be patient, you will soon have money, and women will flock like sheep..
