It was in the News about 30mins ago that the Ekiti Rec told news reporters that she did not resign her appointment and she is still a member of the INEC family. She said she is also on her way to see the IG.

i see our dear Adebayo Ayoka is suffering from dementia. what was the point of that resignation letter then? |
Kobojunkie: 7:04pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
I really hope the government forces her to reveal what transpired. Cause I can not wait 15 years to learn this one ooo!!

bawomolo(m): 7:06pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: whose heroine? you are getting too emotionally involved in this issue. It's just hilarious she has turned around to claim she didn't resign. |
Kobojunkie: 7:10pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
out-of-control-Emotions is one thing I seem to lack, so do not mistake me for one of these hormone driven morons we see on here who are quick to attack persons first and then think later. I suspect WE took things too far. She may not have forseen the storm getting as big as it did but I still remain that she should have, and needs to level with us. We need to know the truth and only she knows the truth of what happened over the weekend leading to her announcement of only some of the results and not the rest. |

Kobojunkie: What if her resignation was due to an ulterior motive she had or has; would you still be expecting the truth in this case? Would you still be expecting the truth after she might have reached a deal with the INEC boss, FG, AC or PDP? What of she was threatened to keep shut, whether she resigns or not, will you still expect the truth? I do hope she comes up with something tangible, otherwise, she should be arrested and questioned immediately. |
bawomolo(m): 7:24pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: how can she be level with us if they still haven't collated the actual results? It would be impossible for her to make an official statement if everything hasn't being investigated. Let the week run out before you thinks she is hiding something. |
Kobojunkie: 7:31pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
When I say level with us, I mean explain what really happened over the weekend; what led to her decision to resign. I have made no claims so far that she is trying to HIDE anything from us, apart from details on why she chose to resign, level an allegation without giving us some more details to work with. For all I know, she may have been threatened and caved under the pressure, who knows? She is 74, a woman, I can go on and on, but I would rather wait for her to tell us, as I believe we deserve to know what happened. She is at the end of the day a civil servant in a democracy. About the results, she had already announced the results for some of the LGA; she quit before she could complete the list. |

bawomolo: I would have loved to cut this lady some slack but it would be very foolish of us to allow Mrs Adeboya a whole week to come up with reasons as to why she resigned when her reasons should have been in the resignation letter she wrote in the first place. Its not about the result now, its about why she resigned in the first place? |
bawomolo(m): 7:36pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
About the results, she had already announced the results for some of the LGA; she quit before she could complete the list. it's pretty easy to say what should have done after the fact but decisions like this are made in high pressure positions. the most important is what should be done after an obviously irregular election and not whether Mrs.Ayoka should have announced a result she wasn't comfortable with. I would have loved to cut this lady some slack but it would be very foolish of us to allow Mrs Adeboya a whole week you and I aren't the ones dealing with Angry mobs on both sides. I'm not interested in the whole PDP or AC mess but we are fooling ourselves if you think this can be untangled in a matter of days. |
Kobojunkie: 7:37pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
Let me start by saying that no matter what the situation or condition, the people ought to be informed. nuzo:Are you kidding me? Of course I would want to know why she saw fit to set the country in commotion the way she did with her resignation. Ngozi-Iwela resigned quietly without raising a storm. Adebayo chose to strike the match, so definitely I would like to know why she decided to set the house on fire in the way she left. nuzo: Duh!! nuzo:See, I have a problem with the last, If she was threatened to keep shut, why did she strike the match anyways? I mean if my life was threatened and I really wanted to go into hiding, last thing I would want to do is create a storm knowing that people would want to understand what is going on. I really, really want to know what went down!! |
Kobojunkie: 7:45pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
bawomolo:Actually, it is easier to try to brush it all under the carpet without ensuring that you consider all angles of the story to be sure you investigate all that needs to be. Being detail-oriented requires one to consider the facts regardless of the conditions that existed or did not exist. She made a decision to resign the way she did, she needs to present some reason for that decision, high-pressure or none. I am not sure you are responding to my posts at this time cause you seem to be saying something completely different from what I have posted so far. The results were collated for each LGA, her conscience was OK with announcing some of the results .i.e. she considered some of the results legit and so went ahead and announced those. For those she claims she was not comfortable with, she did not announce, no biggie!! But she resigns and then alleges that something in the process went wrong. We do not know what this something was, and I for one would like for her to explain herself! What went wrong? Where was the problem? Who was involved etc. |
bawomolo(m): 7:50pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: then wait for the explanation. Is it that hard? You seem to be treating this woman with suspicion rather than waiting for the truth. i honestly doubt if any explanation by her would satisfy you. Personally , it would make more sense if she presents her explanation if front of an election tribunal or to her superiors. She owes us nothing until the tense situation has settled down. We aren't the ones that would suffer if riots start over a rushed or doctored result. |
Kobojunkie: 7:55pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
bawomolo: Now you are not making sense to me. I have been arguing that she needs to be called to explain and that she can not simple allege corruption in INEC without being called to explain it. But you think I am treating the woman with suspicion by doing that? Have you been promised any truth from this woman or anyone at all? If she already promised to let us know the truth, why did Dora, the explorer see need to call on the woman to come explain what happened? Have you even been following the story at all? Anywho, suspect what you want, I really can not be bothered. I will go back to enjoying the debate now while you go away with what you choose from here!! |
bawomolo(m): 8:00pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: dude, we have all seen the articles you posted. Don't act like you have a neutral view on the woman. There is a reason election tribunals exist. What you guys want is some rushed kangaroo justice. |

I actually expected better from you! ![]() |
CyberG: 8:20pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: If anyone is deluded about the 'government' doing anything in total fairness and interest of Nigeria, and Nigerians, regarding this Ekiti election. . .such must be delusional. So, how can a government that 'stole' itself into power, that knows it is NOT able to the people (they are in government not because of people's legitimate votes) and is on a mission to enthrone another 'wuru-wuru' government in Ekiti 'reveal what transpired'? Haven't you guys heard that 'there is something behind the masquerade (oro) that makes it sing (ke)'?? So after all the behind-the-scene horse-trading and do-or-die antics preceding the elections, mostly orchestrated by the PDP (not ignoring the possibility that other parties too have their own rigging strategies too), someone expects the 'government' to reveal themselves?? Well, let's wait and see! |
Kobojunkie: 8:25pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
CyberG:Well, here is the thing. This woman, is not government . Let me reword that. She resigned, and she had information that could have blown the cover off many of our politicians (I suspect) but she chose not to do so for some reason. Now, since the government called her in to explain the allegations, I was hoping it would cause her to SPILL to the Nigerian people what really went on. I mean I don’t know how she could do that now that she is back at work but I do hope she still does spill. There is no way to fight for better government without information, it is near impossible! CyberG:Not the government, the woman to reveal the government’s connection in what transpired over the weekend. |
CyberG: 8:57pm On Apr 29, 2009 |
@ last post - Kobojunkie: The important point I was making is the 'government' cannot force her to reveal anything because who is the 'government' in the first place? Essentially, the people in power - PDP - or what other government are we talking about here? How can you ask that she give names when she was appointed by a system (government) that expects her to deliver the goods to them home and dry? Unfortunately, this is Nigeria where the truth died a long long time ago and if there are any of it's siblings surviving. . .they're on life . The woman cannot name any names because we know that Yaradua, Jonathan, Bankole, Oyinlola, etc all went to campaign in Ekiti to a candidate. . .this already suggests the 'government' as referred to here is NOT NEUTRAL. So, where do you think the 'pressure' is coming from? Well, if you wish to get real names, I have no idea how long you may wait (maybe forever) but one thing is the proxies of PDP, the 'government', are behind the 'pressure' as claimed by the lady. The 'government' appoints INEC Chairman and it's officials, who do you think they will be loyal to in a "paddy-paddy", corruption-infested country where everyone is out to feather their own nest? Does anyone need to be told that after the charade of the 2007 elections that was conducted by INEC, the only reason that Iwu remains is because the 'government' is comfortable that future elections conducted by him are already 'in-the-bag'? This INEC is already 'bought' (from the top) and waiting for it's officials at any level to go against the government is waiting in vain. Are you not aware that the electoral reform (Justice Uwais) proposed that INEC officials cease to be appointed by the President ("government" ![]() |

CyberG: These assertions are not independently confirmed and thereby are unfounded. It may also interest you to know that there are also other unfounded news coming from the other sources claiming that the AC guys threaten her the most and that might have been the major reason why she resigned. I mean, we all know how Tinubu also got involved and how fierce both parties have been in Ekit of recent. How can you kill one and leave one out? |
