Why is the PDP kicking the air like an angry frustrated He-goat over a policy meant to protect the naira?? Is it because you are stuck with your stashed dollars?? The game is up! All the cash u guys looted is trapped now in your vaults at home. All of you have no option than to take it to the parallel market to change. This will go a long way in stabilising the naira and making it stronger in the parallel market. You may decide to leave it at home and do a gamble on who will get the dollars first btw: - dare devil robbers, who can sniff dollars from miles away. - Police, DSS and EFCC who has been given renewed vigour by PMB and eager to please him by looking for any opportunity to catch anyone catchable. ![]() -wayward children, who will steal it to live a high life that may cause their death. - evil domestic staff, who are ready to behead and strangle anyone even if it's just for one $100 bill ![]() If u guys try anything funny by trying to smuggle the cash out; woe betide anyone Buhari catches. By then, I hope their silly ers on nairaland will not come and cry 'witch-hunt' Now it seems i'm beginning to like Emefiele. 268 Likes 31 Shares |

Going too far with this money laundry policy don't forget there are genuine Nigerian business persons who needs DOM acct. for their business. I think the government should rather focus attention on creating identity for every Nigerian to enable traceability of any money laundry act. 43 Likes 2 Shares |

Later they would come and be mocking the exchange rate conversion btw a dollar and naira..now something concrete is about to be done..they are kicking against it.. PDP would mistakenly KICK the BUCKET very soon..if they continue with their 'blind' kicking against everything in this 96 Likes 5 Shares |

ydass: That is the beauty of the BVN scheme! It comes in here. The CBN has already mandated the BDCs to key into this. This is so so cool. We want to know the identity of everyone wanting to do business in the Nigerian banking sector. It will make it easier to flag illicit transactions and track those behind it. The cashless policy will also help at this stage. Because those stuck with large illicit dollars will eventually attempt to change it and lodge it in their s. The cashless policy will give them a lot of bottlenecks and armed robbers or law enforcement agents may eventually close in on them. 37 Likes 3 Shares |

ibedun: So because pdp raised voice means they hate the masses? Oga y don't u reason your statements at times. I am not an economist though but I think pdp, though in opposition now, still thinks good for this nation and wants Buhari to succeed. Opposition government doesn't mean opposite people. So pls next time you comment, I beg you in the name of whatever you worship to be more constructive in your criticisms than talking anyhow. I love you though. You still be my brother no matter the weather 21 Likes 2 Shares |

This is a laudable development. Excerpt from CBN statement clarifies the policy position. The CBN commended deposit money banks in the country for curtailing the acceptance of foreign currency cash deposits without proper documentation. It assure all genuine foreign currency s of access to forex, saying. “We wish to assure all citizens seeking foreign currencies for legitimate personal and/or business interests that there remains ample opportunity to do so within the law. The CBN’s Foreign Exchange Rules have many windows for accessing foreign exchange for legitimate business as well as for personal commitments including payment of medical bills, school fees, mortgages, demand notes and other bills. If you have legitimate business to fund, follow the proper channel. ydass:The embolden, this isn't something that can be achieved in the nearest foreseeable future. it would take a whole lot of time. so, in the mean time, i believe this policy is a welcomed one. The PDP, on the other hand, simply wants the Buhari led istration to fail, hence kicking against the policy. 31 Likes 1 Share |

lol...buharis clampdown on the election dollars ![]() PDP feeling the heat...no wonder they announced that they are broke recently Because PMB has put stern regulations to control the abuse of the forex window which was only favouring them and other PDP sympathizers, they are now crying wolf. What benefit did the forex window do to Nigerians economy under GEJ other than to enrich the cabals. I'm sure Metuh is now crying because dollar is no longer available to him to gallivant with or maybe he's doing so on behalf of his cohorts. Yeye dey smell Buhari working silently, steadily, slowly and effectively ![]() 46 Likes 5 Shares |

What about savings with the non-nigerian banks like CitiBank who has their functional currency as foreign and sees the nara as foreign currency.

Wonders shall never end. How can a party that failed woefully at managing our economy in the sixteen years it ruled want to advise APC on how to clear the mess they created? PDP - the party that brought pains, sorrows and sufferings on Nigerians for sixteen years with their brand of paddy paddy economy is talking of archaic and outdated policies! Wow! This party is a useless party in every sense of the word "useless". How is trade and import restrictions archaic and outdated when many developed and developing nations still engage in it to protect their economy? How is restriction on domiciliary s a bad thing in attempting to stabilize the local currency? The report even highlights it that the policy has started yielding the desired results with a dollar now exchanging for N220 naira in some cases; compared to about N245 a week earlier. Metuh/PDP are not to be taken serious for a second. They have lost it completely. 52 Likes 4 Shares |

I knew this will happen so I am not surprised at all. Politics in Nigeria has turned to do or die affairs. The opposition party always feel uncomfortable with every policy the ruling party adopts.
