BTS is Ok. If you can afford it, go for it; particularly if you have sensitive gadgets you want to protect, modified sine wave inverters are not particularly friendly with such sensitive electrical appliances.

Abeg who knows where I can get my SUOER 30A smart charger fixed?

Now, it works but does not work as expected to its full potential.

It does not turn on unless the battery is deeply discharged; and when it does charge, it prematurely turns itself off in less than 1-2 hours.

I have to wait till 11am when the battery current reaches 11v before I can ON the setup to watch the gotv. Gurus in the house pls how can I make it charge fast?

Using a 30a charger was obviously an overkill,
Rated charging current is between 4a to 6a and at most 8a.
You got lucky it didn't exploded!

In short:
Your charger wasn't meant for the battery atleast not at it's current settings

What you did is as good as killing a cockroach with a sledge hammer.
Charging current is usually 10% of energy battery can store.

I noticed people have been ignoring 50% DOD rule which will make their batteries die out within a short period of time.


@ teamsynergy get a multimeter to see the voltage value of your battery at full charge. Don't rely solely on the charger indicator.

battery gone bad...
u should have reduced the knob settings of the charger, I have 3 40ah batteries and I have been charging with my 30amp charger for 2yrs now with no problem,
could be yr battery was already bad when u bought it or yr smart charger isn't smart to know when battery is full to cut off supply

Oga Ceejay and other Gurus in the House. My Charge Controller seem to be giving out the same input voltage as output voltage to my battery. pls is this normal. Solar usually send 33volt....and it this same 33volt my cc feeds my battery. Is this Normal?

the charger is probably not that smart or ur battery is defective. a good smart charger should pump out more than 8-10amps when the knob is set at 65amps.. next time get like 10amps sc or 20amps with settings to reduce the current
