Gurus in the house, good morning,I use a sumec fireman key start gen, the battery ran empty , bought a new battery, it didn’t use up to 3weeks it stopped starting until I pull to start, called a technology, he said the automatic kick had issues, he changed it there was a loud grinding noise, called him again he later said the complete kick had issues which he changed, he refused buying a new one he claimed follow come works better , issues now is key starter works ,but noise of the generator has increased, could the kick starter be the cause of the noise, every thing works fine just the increase in the noise while working

No....not from the kick starter...

Check the following..

a. Exhaust
b. high voltage
c. The coil sitting and the bearing in it .


Mind you ... If the coil sitting (some Repairers call it sitter)..is bad or making, it will damage the coil any moment...which means bigger cost

Good evening boss @Eenochgaga ur posts have been really helpful… pls I want to ask of ur opinion about some generators that I saw on jiji (I my neighbors) i saw then in various kinds which I want to be using for my mini footwear making business. I want to ask how if it’s advisable to buy them and besides I saw one that the seller claimed it came from and it’s last price Is 45k. I will be using it for my bench grinder(shoe filing machine) and one industrial sewing machine. I don’t want to make a mistake that’s why I’m asking for ur opinion about the gen. I will attach some pictures of the gen from and one other one I saw which the seller claimed it’s the old tiger generator(I my neighbors). Thanks for all u do sir

Don't mind them ..

Though the first generator claimed to be from may be because the name isn't in our market but is better for you to buy a brand new small generator . That 45k will get you a new one and better quality too

We haven't had gen in a long time so just recently, we got one new elepaq 4.5kva. although according to engineer he said its truly 2.8kva not 4.5kva as claimed
After it was coupled, we tested it for few minutes and it worked, the next time we turned it on same day, it brought light and immediately the power went off, the next day we called the installer and he confirmed the AVR got spoilt, we changed the AVR and turned it on, same thing happened... we've changed AVR 3 times consecutively and it is a new gen so our engineer decided the gen must be having factory fault problem cos once it's turned on and we change over, the transformer becomes hot immediately and the voltage rises towards 300 instead of 220 according to the engineer even without anything else being on apart from bulb but this is a generator that was tasted at the sellers shop and it worked perfectly for several hours
So later the seller changed the engine and gave us new one but to my greatest surprise, the issue still persist
So now it's obvious the problem is from our house not the generator, maybe from connection or something that we haven't figured out yet but same connection has been in use in the past without facing issues
Please what exactly do you think is the problem here and how can we resolve that cos right now it's as if we bought new gen but can't use it

This Sumec Navigator I'm seeing upandan is not up to Sumec Firman SPG/FPG level o. Maybe that's why its cheap.

TO THINK OF POWERING A 1,5HP SUMO WELL,,AND FOR THEN TO LAST LONG...YOU NEED MINIMUM OF 4.5KVA gen, 3.5kva will work when new...but will stop being able to power the gen after 6 months,get a thermocool or firman

Yes it can. The gen is actually 3.75KVA/3.125KVA Starting/Running. I think you meant 2.5KW.

Naaa, 4.5kva is well over 200k, 3.5kva I think from over 170k depending on if its manual or electric start.

Remove 2 HP AC from the equation. You can go ahead with 1.5 hp if the AC is inverter type.

My bosses, quick one.
I have a 3.7kva thermocol gen which I use for my 1.5hp inverter AC, 55inch TV, 190w thermocol refrigerator, 1 standing fan, mini home theater and 8-10 bulbs.
Now I plan on adding a pair of 2 or 3 hp standing AC (like the pics I attached below) , I don't know the power rating of standing AC. I want to ask what generator rating will power this type of AC with my present load too.
