Very achievable if the kind of revenue and resources available for GEJ is presented again. But am afraid with the dwindling economy and crash in crude oil prices, it's hard to deliver

Only way to do it is by nuclear power.....one station could give up to 5000mw. Build three of them....and you are on your way.

Bifwoli: Don't mock biogas. It is one of the ways we can provide power to our rural areas.....and even urban areas too. Might be a good idea...biogas. 2 Likes |

dvee2: Very true. But...we could manage major electricity projects....if we threw every spare resource at it...and removed fuel subsidy. |

The party plans to generate at least 20,000 megawatts (mw) of electricity in four years to sur Nigeria’s consumption level of around 15, 000mw. In four years? Hahahahahahaha The same man who will provide millions of jobs in one year, every year will wait a whole 4 years to provide electricity to all |

I took pains to read through the article in anticipation, expecting to see a blueprint or master plan that will explain in detail how they will achieve that target in the power sector, but to my disappointment, I ended up seeing paragraphs of accusations and counter accusations against the ruling party, will the power generate itself. ![]() APC have called PDP and GEJ clueless to the point that they themselves are also clueless, yet some gullible ers will cheer anything that comes outta the mouth of these unrepentant political tyrants, sickening!!!! 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Typical APC, they know how to make promises without telling us how to achieve it. You will generate 20000MW of electricity in 4 years, the big question is HOW?
|
gabicon: 7:25am On Feb 02, 2015 |
All due respect to GMB but I think he is promising too much than our national purse can carry. From the latest Forbes statistics a coal fired power plant of 750mw running on an efficiency of 71% costs $2.5billion, an hydro electric power plant of 600mw costs $3billion, a nuclear power plant of 1000mw capacity with 91% efficiency costs $7billion. Our external reserve is merely $30billion. The question is how do we bank roll a 22000mw plant in 4 years with the forecast on oil prices? By borrowing or what? I appreciate their enthusiasm and zeal to solve the power problems but 5000mw a year is an Eldorado. This is one of the things prof soludo was trying to across to Nigerians in his letter on the state of the economy they can't promise us a journey to space with a lean purse
