TEHN has gotten involved in the case of DJDOLA (Hammed) ( How To Donate)
Please find below the key update on the case by babyosisi
babyosisi:
Summary and update so far
I feel compelled to let the posters who have invested time and money and emotions and still investing to know the situation of things
I apologize on the behalf of those who went to see DJ if anyone feels they didn't report accordingly, this is very sensitive but at the same time you deserve to know.
The true picture is that DJ needs more specialized care than the hospital he is at can offer him
His liver is bad and sadly it has also affected his kidneys
Transplant is inevitable and now we have two failing organs
The care after transplant is not easy,it is long and extensive
Most importantly money is needed desperately to make this happen
Lots of money
I am therefore appealing to us all to give
Ask your mother father, godfather, politician friends, banker friends and business friends to give generously To the politicians reading, please help save the life of this young man
The people reading here are the voters
Any politician that makes this happen for us,we will let everyone hear of this good gesture.
DJ needs us now more than ever

Action Plan Based on the template from chaircover
chaircover:
Good Morning
@young doctor since you are online, can you confirm which tests were carried out on DJ at the Eruwa hopspital. From what I have read here, he was only seen to yesterday, so I dont think that that many tests would have been run on him
If this is the case, then we need to look at moving him to a specialist dialysis unit ASAP. Any good hospital will also not solely rely on another hospitals tests anyway and they will still carry out their own tests.
we have talked enough and its now to take action. Every minute wasted is very crucial in this mans life
Today we must do the following . .
1. Get 3 teams together
Team A to deal with the Dialysis and Nigerian hospitals
Team B to deal with the process of flying him out of Nigeria
Team C to deal with fundraising
Team A & B needs a qualified doctor at least and several dedicated people who are prepared to do the leg work.
It will be better if Team A are lagos based since its likely that DJ will be moved back to Lagos.
Each team needs a team leader and the leader will be responsible for regular updates.
2. Move DJ from Eruwa to a specialist hopspital
Team A to call St Nicholas/Reddington/Kidney unit d on the top of the page/Bowen Hospital and any other hospital mentioned here or reccomended and to speak to them and find out the following info
a. Do they do dialiysis?
b. Do they have beds?
c. The cost of each dialysis
d. Do they have an ambulance to pick DJ from Eruwa to their unit?
e. Are they able to assist in visa procurement/advise on how to get DJ out of the country for medical treatment
Once the team is created, I am happy to send a total of N5000 credit if any of the team require some credit to ensure that these phone calls are made today ASAP. PM me your phone number and I will send credit directly to your phone.
If the chosen hopspital does not have an ambulance, then the team is to find out the cost and how DJ can be transported to the chosen specialist hospital
Please can these teams be set up this morning; certainly team A needs to be set up ASAP.
Team C will work with Team A and B to understand how much is required in total, how much is available now and how much is still required.
I nominate cramjones, busybody2, Gboliwe & Idowuogbo to be on Team C . . .as we need to get the ball rolling ASAP.
I nominate jaybee3 to cordinate the "project" as a whole.
I nominate babyosisi to be on team B
I nominate ifyalways, naijadeyhia & caracta to be on team A
Sorry guys for not asking you first before nominating you and please any other nairalander is free to any of these teams as we need as many hands on desk as possible.
The expectation is that DJ starts his dialysis today.
Thank you everyone for all your in all kinds of ways. He sees all, and by His Grace we will have a big testimony concerning our brother.
And please no more arguments! it distracts and too many posts means that people miss important information due to the sheer number of posts. We all mean well. Please lets help this young man by focussing on him and him alone. Thank you.

jaybee3: Update Re – Action Plan and way forward
First and foremost, we would like to apologise for the unnecessary delay but be rest assured we’ve been working tirelessly behind the scene to move as quickly as we possibly can.
As it stands, we currently have a field worker stationed with DJ. Our plan is to have him relocated back to lagos where he can receive the much needed dialysis pending the time we are able to get definitive diagnosis done as well as facilitate travelling documents needed to fly him out of the country.
We will work with those that have made primary s with the hospitals in lagos to see if they can send an ambulance to pick him up. We do not think it’s ideal for a frail patient to be transported using a public transport Ambulance transportation is our only choice.
We will also implore that you donate to DJ’s cause as he has to get better. Money cannot do it alone so please hands together to also pray for him.
Lastly, we will be providing you with new details so as to accept new donations. We will announce each and every donation on this thread as well as expenditures incurred.
Thanks for your anticipated cooperation

UPDATE POST - Latest Updates at the TOP
UPDATE!!! 19 Nov 2014
04:30 pm
The doctor said they are giving him therapeutic treatment for now because of the fluid in him. This is to see how the body will react(if the body will correct itself). This will go in for 5-7 days. If this does not happen then a biopsy will be done to see what's wrong.
The protein electro-phoresis (or Serum) test was done to see the extent of the kidneys function but this cannot be done at once. It has to be done in stages which is why it is taking so long to get the results.

UPDATE!!!! 19 Nov 2014
07:40 am
The doctors came to check him during the night. He is still stable. See pic DJDola resting
I am with him right now and he is conversing well.
He says thanks to everyone and keep praying for him.
Hopefully, we will have a fuller update soon.

UPDATE!!! 17 Nov 2014
07:30 am
Just saw him. Saw his doctor too. Today he will be doing.
1. Blood film
2. Abdominal-pelvic ultra scan (the one in surulere)
3. Protein Electro-phoresis.
After these tests, they would have full details of what is wrong with him and we can get more information.
He just had breakfast and he is stable

We will be going around 10-11am today to see him.
More updates coming later.
Thank you!!

Hameed has been checked in, his vitals taken and he has been seen by the doctors. A specialist was also called in today to attend to him and the specialist asked the hospital to take him to a laboratory in surulere for the tests but on getting there, the power supply was cut off and their back off generator was not functional so the test would be done on monday while we await the results of the tests being done at the hospital (in house tests).
As you are aware, he did not finish his tests at LUTH and the tests in Eruwa is inconclusive so we can not do much without those results so we need to wait so as to be really sure what is wrong with him to avoid giving the wrong treatment.
He is in safe hands, talking, eating and not in any urgent medical situation and he has also being itted for close observation.
Someone was asked to stay with him to spend the night and his brother volunteered so he is there with him.
Hameed sends his thanks and gratitude for your graciousness and kindness towards him.

14 Nov2014
22:30 - So sorry for the late update, we have been on the phone allday trying to work out a solution.
Basically this is what is going on:-
They arrived in Lagos around 3pm this afternoon and head straight to the hospital in VI. On getting there it turns out that this hospital only do dialysis so we have to get his test first and undergo the first session of dialysis before they step in so they referred us to another hospital in Gbagada.
Getting to Gbagada, unfortunately they dont have a bed space so they cant it him and they turn around and refer us to Island Hospital. Getting to Island hospital - same story no bed space and cant it.
Unfortunately, no test has been done previously as both LUTH and the Eruwa was just wasting everyone's time.
We then went to St Nicholas same story.
At this point patient is already tired and has to go back home and continue the whole process tomorrow morning.
We have done more research and made some calls so we have one that is willing to take him tomorrow morning, do the tests and we take it from there.
Thank you ALL and God Bless!!

We have notified the hospital that they will be there shortly!!
More updates coming soon!!!

UPDATE!!!! 3rd December
7:00pm
Due to the fluid accumulation in Hamed, he had to be drained and after draining him, from physical examination his liver was found to be okay and might not need a biopsy so CT scan and an Ultra sound scan was done between Monday and today.
These results and also results for the blood work showed his liver is okay and hence the biopsy will not be necessary.
However, a growth is still present in his abdomen so an endoscopy will have to be done on him so as to be sure what exactly is causing the growth inside him and hence solutions can be proffered.
This will be done on Friday and Monday (From different directions).
TeHN
More Updates!!!! 21st November
3:00pm
Due to the chemical imbalance in his blood (from a blood test done this morning) Hameed will be having dialysis today. we mentioned that preliminary results shows stage one kidney medical disease.
The dialysis will be done here at the hospital.
TeHN
UPDATE!!!!
21st November
2:00pm - The diagnosis is out and the doctor says Hamed has "Liver Abscess". This is caused by an infection of the liver and he has been put on antibiotics in the hope that the infection will be cured.
The illness started about 3 months ago (according to Hamed) and hopefully, it has not gone beyond treatment.
The consultant mentioned that with the treatment he is getting, his urine will increase which is how the fluid accumulated in his belly will be ed out and hamed confirmed that he has been urinating frequently in the last couple of days.
Hopefully, there won't be a need to operate or have a transplant.
