Jumia Feeds 1,500 Destitutes And Less Privileged In Lagos (8840 Views)
ypzilanti: 4:06pm On Mar 12, 2013 |
One day, and then what? I have often asked myself what it would take to have free soup kitchens like they have in the USA. Mind you, the soup kitchens in USA are not ed by government but by charitable donations. They give free food out, once a day at the soup kitchens in virtually every county in the USA.

It takes an individual/group of indviduals to achieve that feat...you could influence that too, engage Companies to adopt it as part of their CSR...you could name it TALEBI NP A meaning Who is Hungry... ![]() |

obowunmi: So sad it's at the expense of poor Lagosian.... do something more useful like building homes.Instead of you to commend these people for what they did,u're here giving directions on what they should have done with the money. If i may ask, what impact have you ever made in Nigeria that affects many people positively? Before you complain about what others have done or are doing, first ask yourself if you have done better. |

good publicity for them. my aunt (no hidden agenda, just a truly charitable woman, who also happens to be a widow) feeds about 250 indigent (poor) folks in the lekki phase 1 area every wednesday and saturday. She seeks no publicity and does it from her meagre earnings. THAT is what I call charitable.

Jumia took the charitable task in feeding these kids and some critics are demanding that they ought to do more. My question: What have you done for the underprivileged?

God bless Jumia. I have a new respect for them and will shop more often with them because of this charitable work. I just wish all other people making even more can follow suit.

This is something I've always wanted to set up all over Nigeria...dreamed of this from an early age before i even discovered they existed in other countries. It is something I'm going to accomplish sooner or later..maybe not in the grand scale i first envisioned. 1 Like |
