When I see post of people bashing Oando, I honestly don't know what to say.
Is it not same Oando that turned my trades now like an institutional investor?
Bought at #5.72 sold above N80
Thank God I was not so keen about this forum then, probably would have been discouraged.
I bought again at N36.5 to ₦40 and now in profit again.
The truth is as some people are losing serious money in it so are some people making serious money.

Just be on the side of those making money from it.

Oando Results are due this coming week as they advised.
And tranche 2 by June end.
We hope the Results will be ballistic.

Over-analysis is how people miss Oando rallies.

Do your DD.

That was what we thought but got disappointed in Q1 2025.

Look at the trend

Q2 2024 LOSS AFTER TAX. N75 Billion

Q3 2024 LOSS AFTER TAX. N40 Billion

Q4 2024 LOSS AFTER TAX. N8.2 Billion. at this point we thought the next quarter was going to get lower. Then,

Q1 2025 LOSS AFTER TAX. N23 Billion

How will they wipe this Q1 2025 out to have a promising H1 or perhaps they may have a strong Q2 alone. Time will tell but I do not believe they will come out this year.

Can somebody look me straight in the eyes and tell me that Alhaji himself has not made a dime from Dangote Sugar since 2024?

Can you explain how you came about this figure? Teach me

ositadima1:
Let me explain why stocks like Oando, Dangote Sugar, and others that are structurally underwater (price & technicals) will find it difficult to move upward.

First, the concept of being "underwater" refers to the structural position of the current price relative to where significant trading activity occurred within a given time period. Simply put, many traders who bought at higher prices are now waiting to break even—and they create resistance. When the price reaches their breakeven point, they tend to offload their positions, creating selling pressure.

The only logical way for such stocks to move higher is through a strong catalyst—exceptionally good news that can propel the price beyond this overhead resistance. Some of these stocks have over 80 billion naira worth of volume sitting silently above current levels (more money sitting above than below price over a given period). Breaking through that kind of supply will be tough and take considerable time.

That said, this is my latest interpretation, which contradicts one of my earlier views where I said, "Never buy above the big money." In light of this new understanding, that statement was wrong.

Now, my updated stance is this: buy below the big money only if you see a Level 8
catalyst—something strong enough to drive the price up. Otherwise, it’s best to stay on the sidelines for now. cool

Every time I have dividend to collect from greenwinch, I must write a to letter them and copy SEC. Greenwinch will still wait for SEC to comment on my letter after 2 weeks before they can process my dividend.

The analysis on Oando has always been based on its fundamentals and that’s why the bashing is justified for not meeting the criteria for fundamentalists.
If you have been making money trading it, that’s you applying technical analysis or something closer to that to profit from the stock. On that note, you too are justified and can’t see anything wrong with the stock.
Everyone sticking to their strategy in assessing a stock is all I see.
The lenses are different, so the views can’t be the same.

On Oando, for those invested in it, I don't see much hope in the business. I've spoken extensively to an employee, and the company’s strategy isn’t to show ing profit — their main aim is to recover their capital and minimize the tax paid, so they’re perfectly fine declaring losses and they have a team of tax specialists dedicated to that. Last year’s profit was driven by the FX gains they declared in Q1, otherwise it would have been the losses as usual.
Could be wrong but I dont see that changing this year

Make we see results first. Since aradel and seplet are digging out crude and making profits. Aradel even said they have done 40% above target. So oando na water them dey dig from thr own well and selling at loss.Mr time will decide.
Again how are they planning to pay back thr debt since the target na to dey declare loss

Here is a trading nugget.

The basic yet simple idea with trading is:
Buy low, sell high.
Technical analysis gives you the sentiment behind the market.
Fundamental analysis shows you the maths. You can use this to know if the commodity is at a significantly lower price.

Blindly following fundamentals will bring you to ruin faster than you can say "stocks".

But if you can combine the 2 forms of analysis, you will be a winning trader.

Stay blessed.

Nice one, however, the key principle of modern investing is building a shield of protection around your portfolio through diversification. I've implemented some strong shields of liquidity around my NGX portfolio:
- Treasury Bill Shield:
- FGN Bond Shield:
- REITs Shield:
- My NYSE portfolio, on the other hand, is shielded by:
- Warren Buffett's Oracle Shield, Berkshire Hathaway's class B
- Gold ETF Shield, hedging against market volatility
- Chinese Market Shield, diversifying into emerging markets
These shields have stood the test of time, with some weathering total market collapses. With this diversified portfolio, I expect my investments to withstand economic turbulence, such as the impact of no47 trade war 2.

Bros, which REITs are you holding? We have UPDCREIT - not bad so far especially for early investors!
Also which Gold ETF in the NYSE do you have/suggest?
Osita/guys...can anyone please talk about GOLDBREW (are they suspended?) bearing in mind DIAGEO exit/the consumer sector revival!
I thought the company will do well with all the hype on ssm about the Abia state guvnor - roads construction/electricity supply in his state! cool

Quite educative and informative.

Earning is an opinion, cash flow is a fact.

A business can't go down overnight, it must have shown signs at least 2 years before it collapsed. I guess holders were concerned about the price and didn't consider the value of the stock

FOMO is also a big headache...especially in the NYSE where the changes most times comes very fast/furious!!! cool

For Greenwinch Registrars, it is well deserved.

Just so people know, there is an SEC rule that gives registrars 48 hours max to pay dividends after receiving an e-mandate.

Unlike Seplat and Aradel who acquired new assets to diversify their portfolio, Oando’s acquisition increased its stake in existing assets, from 20% ownership to 40% in the NAOC JV. So yes, production increased due to a larger stake but the issues with high OPEX and finance costs in that JV still exist

They don’t need ing profit to pay back their debt. It’s an issue of cash flow. Debt repayment comes from operational cash flow, especially via their RBLs, which are secured against production, not earnings. They can run their losses on paper and still service debt because the assets are generating enough cash.

NB: I’ve not said one can’t make money from the stock. You very well can. I’m talking about it as a value investment, It is not run with the shareholders in mind.

I’m late to the party on this one but It looks like a greatly undervalued business.

Valuation Metrics
EPS annualized: N2.35
My Forecasted EPS: N3.10
P/E Ratio: 3.9× vs Historical PE of about 6-7x
EV / EBITDA: 2.5×
EV / FCF: 2.6×
Profitability Metrics
Gross Margin: 23.8%
Net Margin: 9.7%
Return on Equity (ROE): 46.6%
Return on Assets (ROA): 21.3%

Currently trading at ~N9, my analysis is showing that it potentially has 100%+ upside if they maintain Q1 performance.

NFA/ DYOR

Vitafoam at N58.8, it has reached my TP of N60. Bought 1.25mn units between 23 and 34, average cost of N30.
What I’m hearing is the result for Q3 is still very strong. N10-11 FY earnings per share is very possible. So I see it at KM70, the results so far have been better than my initial forecast.
NFA, DYOR but with a low total OS I think there could be potentially a bonus issue, maybe 1 for 5, 1 for 8, this is just my thought o and a N3-4 dividend.
Sunrisepebble:
I was MH the stock at N23 with good intention. My actual TP for the stock is N60 based on historical PE of 6x but N35-45 is my conservative estimate.
