Thank you very much for the response Bovali, a question again, is the lot size same as leverage
No, leverage in simple is debt.
Now, imagine you want to buy 100 chocolates, but you only have enough money for 10 chocolates. Your friend offers to lend you the money to buy the remaining 90 chocolates. This is called "leverage."

Leverage means borrowing money to trade more chocolates than you could with just your own money. So, with leverage:

If you have money for 10 chocolates and your friend lends you enough to buy 100 chocolates, you are using leverage to trade more chocolates.
In summary:

Lot size is the number of chocolates you trade at once.
Leverage is borrowing money to trade more chocolates than you could with just your own money.

Also to add, that's why you get charged for holding positions overnight that were bought using leverage

Good Afternoon my ogas. Please what study materials/courses would you recommend that can help me improve in the art stock valuation? I believe there's a lot I can achieve in the remaining half of this year and beyond if I'm armed with this skill... Please help a baby in the industry trying to find her footing. Thank you smiley

And then there are TA methods that are pure rubbish, such as Elliott Waves and Fibonacci retracements. These approaches are so subjective that 1,000 different people can draw their own unique conclusions from the same chart. undecided
Thanks for the head up,lol.which TA do you recommend. I will start looking at it from 4th quarter. That will be for my jijo/trading portfolio only

The truth is that TA as a predictive tool is hit or miss. TA can tell you what has happened or what is currently happening; it can indicate whether we are in an uptrend or downtrend and whether the market is overbought or oversold, etc. But, the market can remain oversold for longer than expected, making it impossible to be certain about future movements.

FA is another valuable tool. It can help you understand the value of a stock and determine whether it's undervalued or overvalued relative to its current market price. But, FA cannot predict when stocks will move, which is why OGG cannot provide timing in his analysis.

There may be means of predicting market movements, both legal and illegal.

I believe TA and FA should be used together to improve outcomes. For instance, FA might indicate that a stock is priced well, while TA could suggest that now is probably a good time to enter. Alternatively, they could be used to identify when a stock has become overpriced.

Note that neither TA nor FA are truly predictive tools. Predictive capabilities may be found in methods like statistical modeling or machine learning algorithms. Don't misunderstand me, though – you can use TA and FA to make substantial profits if you understand them well.

Thank you

I think the fellow I replied should understand the post.
Am sorry if you don't.

And yes DS is a buy. ...a N39--43 price level is an opportunistic one.

Pls note that I do not give free recommendations all the time. Except for a few cases where I decide to drop a FA and/or TA guide like the last 3 of ACCESSCORP, C&I LEASING and MBENEFITS @ N17.85, N2.55 and 56k in that order, I usually attach a fee for some of my services.
This is not necessarily for you though. ...it's for those who still bombard my E-mail box with one form of request or the other.
Sometimes, even those who pay a fee willingly and without any request from me, make less financial service demand than those who want free service. wink cheesy grin

Those who demand for free service are twice as much. wink cheesy cool
Well, I'LL ALWAYS TRY TO HELP when I can. But I will also attach a fee for certain class of financial service... and on this, I am unapologetic.

People should be guided accordingly.
It is well

Thanks

Read these ones first. if you feel you need to educate yourself more then you can ask for more.

I don't typically like having these discussions because most Nigerians just like to gather books and not read them.

Over N200.

ROE is currently 68% (Highest in the industry, if not the entire market)

PE is 2.41

Forward PE is 0.71

These numbers are after totally discounting any fx gains.

This bank is probably worth N400 but I will start taking profit at N200.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A STOCK THIS CHEAP. EVER!!!!

Only down side i can see is the high Book Value

Oh! I've always known Total and Total E&P and they do both upstream and downstream. Is this not the same as the one listed on NSE? I'm confused.

debeey87:

Business environment aren't the same. Total is in the downstream business(filling stations, lubricants etc) while seplat is into exploration and production of crude oil and gas

is it the Table-shaker Q1 report for GTB that is making it undervalued at current price?

Is that a sustainable result?

I dont see why not. They actually lost money on the fx side of things so even if there was a one off item it certainly wasn't fx

Hello all, with the Dangote refinery take-off this month, Eterna Oil and OANDO are part of the major suppliers to the public. Would that positively impact their share prices in any way? It has been in the air for some time now...

Have they resolved the crude supply? The date shifting is unending
KarlTom: 5:18pm On Jul 02, 2024
Exactly! sad

Dangote is a very shrewd business mogul.
If there is a regulatory loophole in his favour, he won't complain.
If there is a cover up somewhere in his favor, he wont talk.
However, if anyone does anything to harm his business, he will voice out and play dirty.

He seems to enjoy power and media play with his competitors. Recall the recent cement pricing war between DANGCEM and BUACEM?

Recently, he has spoken up about the IOCs frustrating his efforts with crude supply.
I'm sure there are many more cans of worms he will open before the refinery commences full operations.

He is a man with friends on both sides of the divide so it will be interesting to see how this 'drama' plays out...
