It was when I went to training school of a Bank I used to work for then. The Consultant was teaching us Banking law and he was talking about the rules in the Banking and other financial Institutions ACT (BOFIA) 1991 as relates to the capitalisation of Banks and then he talked about how banks use the 25billion Naira capital base. He maitained it is 4 d procurement of fixed assets, technology etc in totality. I however pointed out that a certain section says a capital reserve unimpaired by losses shall be maintain, but the man said I was misinforming the class that I should quote the section or sit down. I then told him that even Lawyers do not memorize all sections of law, they only consult for reference purpose, the man said I should sit down that I do not know what I was talking about. Smiless. Me wey be say one of my personal principles is 'Nobody can rubish me without my consent and I will never give my consent' I just told the man in the Presence of coleaques at the training school that "with due respect to your person sir, people do not memorize every section in law books. Even you sir, have been quoting some wrong sections from BOFIA here but we decide not to react because we no nobody knows it all. For instance, u said section 1 of BOFIA defines business of Banking in Nigeria. It is totally wrong sir. Business of banking is defined by section 65 (1)" the man vex no be small ooo. He called me liar etc. I just told him that as soon as the lecture is over, I will produce a copyof BOFIA and show it to him alone and not to the students. And truly, I went to get the whole BOFIA for him and pointed the sections out to him. Till d Man finished his session, he no gree me talk 4 class again. Though I met him later and apologised that I did not mean to discredit him. Smilesss

Twas usually (always) in maths. Started in primary school. The guy would make a mistake and would not listen. Me, i'll jejely go home n tell my parents and trust my mom, next day she z in school and den d guy would arrange himself. In secondary school, der was also dis guy who would make a mistake n when u correct him, all hell will be let loose, only for him to come for his next period and effect a correction. Itwas fun @ d tym - i was immortal @ maths, esp arithmetic. Oh my - such nostalgia.

naturalwaves: Wow! I did that a lot when I was in secondary school, not because I intentionally wanted to test the teacherd but because I would have solved some very dificult maths question and will want to see if there are other approaches. Unfortunately, I made a lot of teachers sweat profusely on the chalk board.
I had an insatiable love for Mathematics and Physics.
so what do you do now?
