It's been almost two years in this country of ours and the truth is everyone can't be a Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer or a Software developer to make it here in Canada. What works for A would not work for B. This country is a land of opportunities and you just have to harness it.
I am from a regulated profession (Primus Interpares) but it will take me some years to get back into that field and if I eventually decide to go back, question is will I find fulfillment in it?
Most of us due to one thing or the other studied courses back home and at the end found ourselves not even working in our field of study(ies) all to make ends meet. So what is wrong in doing that here as far as it's legal, puts food on the table and takes care of basic necessities plus change left for a rainy day
Like has been said before by others, if you put in the effort and work hard, you will reap the fruit of your labour all things being equal.
I work "survival job" full time and hustle instacart when I am free . I am not where I want to be but I am striving to get there and while it may take a while, we only pray for God's grace which is more than sufficient as well as his guidance and we shall surmount all hurdles.
Edit: As a form of encouragement and not trying to brag, attached is a screenshot(removed)of my most recent pay slip and amount made so far as well as my instacart earnings (some people doing "office work" didn't make that sum), yet we de do "survival job" abi na any work.
All my years in Nigeria, wearing shirt and tie how much I get/make?
If you like, belittle the work of my hands, that one nor concern me. There is dignity in the work of thy hands, be it flipping burgers, manual labor, construction, trade or what not as far as you are not a burden to anyone or the system.
May God bless our hustle....Amen

Lol cleaned for two years? Parents didn't spend all that money for me to touch a broom for work.
I was working as a software developer , first job out of school, Right in the middle of the financial district.
I've lived in this country long enough to know what's on ground. I've met some Nigerians where I'm surprised this person was even given visa.
By God's grace my time here is coming to an end soon should be bk in naija full-time in the next couple years
Stop looking down on people and their profession especially in this canada,i had to to respond to you...honestly i am worth over a million Canadian dollars and yet do call centre jobs,do you know why?i just want to get the Canadian experience and move to my field, its the same thing that applies to so many people u see, when you talk to alot of people doing this job you would find out how rich or educated they are,i know bosses back home in nigeria, branch managers, groupheads etc that are here doing callcentres but do u know what?its temporary they always breakthrough. So out of curiosity when u see a black cleaner again chat with him up and find out his background, who knows you might even be able to find a postion for him in your company....enjoy

$64k year to date is no longer a survival job. You are actually doing very well by Canadian standards so keep it up.
Many people get distracted by thoughts of what 'people will say,' but winners like you have already charted their path to the top and remain focused on it. Keep at it and keep taking those steps towards your professional career.

Unfortunately, some newcomers surround themselves with folks like that and completely miss their way.
As a newcomer, whatever legal thing your hand finds to do, do it! Stop caring about what people will say... they have been talking since 1901 and will continue to talk. So completely remove them from your settlement equation.
If a basement apartment works best for your plans, stay there. If a studio apartment or shared apartment is your best choice, stick to it. These things are mainly temporary.

The funniest thing is that 64k income in Calgary might go so much further than 200k income in Vancouver... Especially if one is not doing stuff like financing cars or chasing after the Jones's.

Job prospects is not all that good for new Pharmacists entering into the system. Those trained in Canada have better chances though as they build strong networks through intern positions. This has been the case for the past 3 years or so.
If you decide to stay in a big city to start off your career, you could get locum or casual hours for a while. If you are very lucky, you may be able to secure a full time position from some of those locum roles. To easily secure full time positions, you may have to move to rural locations where you can build your experience, then start applying to jobs in cities from there. This applies to all provinces.
I am a pharmacist too, awaiting PPR and plan to move to rural areas after ing the exams. I also plan volunteer like once or twice a week in a pharmacy. Is that a good plan? How difficult are the exams, I have already started preparing and hope to write it once I get there. Thanks
Wages: check PayScale, Indeed and Glassdoor. This also varies by location and number of hours worked, but FT hours are somewhere between 85k to 100k. If you pick up extra hours or work locum with your FT. You could earn between 110k-120k. Additional bonus of around 10k if you work FT is also common.
If you own your own practice, average is $135k and up.

Stop giving him the attention he want....
People that talks like that are mostly kids of Naija politicians that have embezzled and keep embezzling our common wealth...
Nemesis will catch up with them someday.
My people, any job you find yourself doing for now, abeg do am.No employer will owe you your wages unlike our oga's back home.
I know of a Medical Doctor who told me when she first move here. She had to start as a PSW,she did that for few years before getting her license to practice her main profession.Imagine if that toddler up there have met her during those survival job,he would have look low on her like a nobody.

Chinese folks are laundering money in Canada. Its an open secret and the Canadians are in bed with them.
