I entered into a contract to replace the engine, fluids and radiator for Baba40 2. The vehicle was recently purchased by baba40 prior to meeting me and was massively abused. 3. A Foreign used engine was procured and installed with a 3month warranty or 3000km which ever comes first. 4. I did not receive any complaints from Baba40 until after the expirations of his warranty. 5. The procured engine in the market where it was sourced comes with a 1 week warranty and not a money back guarantee. (They will fix and not replace in the event of failure). 6. As a responsible entity we stick our necks out for our clients because we stand by what we sell. We give long warranties so in the case of failure the client is covered. 7. I was ed on the 4th month and after over 3,340km that engine installed on baba40's vehicle suffered oil burn. 8. As a responsible entity I offered him a window of full refund for expense made on engine procurement and installation . The window was 24hrs. 9. Baba40 Did not respond to my offer, but rather insulted me further. 10. 3weeks after the offer elapsed he opened the thread above. I have sold and installed hundreds of engines to nairalanders on this platform. Over 99per of the time it turns out well without issues. There are times it does not. This is possibly one of those cases. In the past i have fully refunded aggrived clients for all funds expended as written in the invoice (fluids, labour , logistics, and parts) and also installed their old parts back, I can call out 2 nairalanders that have received this gesture this year. Guy refund the man his engine. A good Tokunbo engine as you started cannot start having oil burns just under 3000km. And he said it's been having this issue way before the 3000Km and he's being complaining but you asked him to try several things. Finally his wife called and after a lengthy talk I agreed to continue his work. We finished without any issues. 120k for Toyota corolla 2004 catalyst? What kind of scammer are you? From what you posted, it even vindicates the customer the more. Did you run any test on the engine after fixing? can we see the test you ran to the engine health? Did the customer complain about this oil burn before the 3000km on your contract? what was your response to him? The issue he's complaining about now is not a radiator issue. Radiators don't cause oil burn in engine so don't bring the radiator part to this discussion. You sold an engine that doesn't meet your contract specifications. Refund his money! 20 Likes 2 Shares |

Guy you sold an engine with a bad piston to the guy. You know this is true but you are trying to rigmarole yourself out of it. You knew that engine was bad when you installed it. Just know this, what goes around comes around. It will surely get to you.

Dear gazzuzz, I have read this thread just now and I think op should have done any negotiation with you b4 u embarked on starting the process. Even at that if he wanted to negotiate anything, I think he should have just asked for leniency on ur labour charge and allow you to buy what you deem fit for the vehicle. (I can't say if he did that. So op was wrong there. Since you spoke to his wife and u had a good understanding with her, What could possibly cause the oil burn, is it his used radiator he purchased. I just want to you check the car , say what is causing it and let him decide on what to do. That would still be a professional way to it. Sorry if I misinterpreted the whole scenario but trying to help an aggreived customer problem will still put you in good light since there is already a job connecting the two of you. I understand you gave a warranty despite allowing him to purchase his part and I appreciate that. Pls kindly just check the car and state whY is wrong so he will decide what to do and the refund of engine only if he doesn't want it fixed by you. Thank you 4 Likes 1 Share |

Lush100: guy radiators don't cause oil burns. The engine itself is bad. He paid Gazzuzz full for the engine and for his labour. This is a classic case of a Nigerian mechanics. He knew he sold a faulty engine. The engine piston had been worked on that is why its having oil burns few months after purchase. Nigerian mechanics do this alot. They know the fix would only last a few months. This is really wicked! 4 Likes |
