Iceman2020:Hi Iceman, Have you done this? How to send Webforms & Mails to IRCC offices if your application has EXCEEDED STANDARD/NORMAL PROCESSING TIME https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/473#95627040 |

uniqueam1: Hello Uniqueam1, Yes, NutrieyesK can. As stated in my previous response to the original post, the SP should be approached as an independent application and all requirements should be met including HT irrespective of the ongoing PNP application. Each application route has different assessment criterion, which allows the VO apply discretion to reach a decision. Note that two separate VOs will be handling the application based on the requirements of the intended route. However, sensitive information would be cross-matched or verified to determine honesty. All the best |

Iceman2020: Yeah, a lot, me included. I got MR, AIP, and did biometrics more than 2 months ago. I've sent webform and emails to all the IRCC s and offices I know of, and I am still waiting for my application update. I think it is because my school is not on the readiness plan list yet, I am hoping for 17th Nov now. It will end in praise! 4 Likes |

Iceman2020:Bro you are not alone, still waiting, sent them an email at Nairobi, they replied that they are about finalizing my application and would get back to me shortly. Is your school in the list, mine isn't I guess the delay. 1 Like |

sleekcheek: Hello Sleekcheek, At this stage, nothing concerns IRCC as it is now between you and your DLI. What's normally done, the DLI would ask for proof of PR and thereafter consider you as a Domestic student. However, you may not get a refund after paying the International student fees rate. Any subsequent fees payment prior to getting your PR card and fulfilling the necessary landing formalities in Canada, and after notifying your DLI about your new Canadian status will be billed at domestic rates. For further inquires and firsthand information on the financial and fees policy of your DLI about student status change, the ission or bursary office directly. All the best 1 Like |

Hello Lekiboboe, For a foreign trained doctor to be able to practice as a medical doctor in Canada, they must fulfill the below steps. 1. His Medical degree must be recognized by Canada. You can check the World Directory of Medical Schools to see if his university is listed 2. Get his medical degree verified by MCC (medical council of Canada) 3. the MCCQE Part I exam (medical council of Canada qualifying examination) 4. you must submit acceptable proof of postgraduate clinical medical training before applying to Part II. (12 months of continuous, paid practice) 5. the MCCQE part II exam 6. After you the MCCQE Part II and meet all other MCC requirements, you will be awarded the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada. The MCCQE Part II is only istered in Canada 6. To apply for a residency position, international medical graduates need to the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) Examination. This exam is offered only in Canada. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Note: getting PR would not be a problem if he has the requirement as @justmellow stated, the problem is ing all these and beginning work. Many doctors go there and end up doing menial jobs (which is not going to be nice for someone who is bent of practicing medicine) He should weigh his options properly as I stated in my previous reply to you. My advice for him is to start from the UK and if he still wants Canada he can move after a while. if he comes as as a PR, he would be doing other jobs while doing these exams (time management won’t be easy, and he’ll need to have funds for the exams, they’re not cheap) and after he can get a job Or he could be working elsewhere, when he needs to take the exam, he’ll come on a visa to do it. After everything, when he gets a job, he can come through work permit. There are many possibilities. Best wishes Lekiboboe: 1 Like |

Lekiboboe: Hello Lekiboboe, As Choc as earlier suggested, the UK isn't a bad destination for health workers. In respect to Canada, EE would be suitable if he can be patient enough to build about 2-3yrs work experience as a 'Doctor.' He may also learn French to claim up to 25 points or 50 points for bilingual. This may help boost the points lost for work experience. The current CRS score isn't looking nice as it jumped from 471 to 478 due to the points upgrade for French. Nobody knows what the score may be like between the next 12 months. Since he has age at his side, he should consider it as a long term project and work to attain the required work experience. As Choc also stated, he may look up some courses in medical fields or closely related field that shows study progression. His best option in my opinion for him to immigrate to Canada is via EE or SP route. All the best |

Chocs: Hello Chocs, Your inputs has been spot on. I believe him wanting to migrate to Canada isn't for the solo purpose of practicing but strictly for greener pasture. If he decides to migrate through the EE route, he doesn't need to take any of the licensing exams to be eligible but as you also rightly stated, he only has to evaluate his professional degree with MCC which is a compulsory and strictly advised bt IRCC. Prior to the completion of the evaluation and amongst other major requirements like IELTS, he's eligible to create an EE profile and jump into the pool. If post-COPR and after landing in Canada, he still desire to practice as a Doctor, then he will have to take the licensing exams and mentioned in your post as each province have their licensing requirements/criteria. What he needs at the stage if he intends not to look at other country but Canada is that he have to build his work experience and thereafter commence the process by ing with MCC for his certificate evaluation. MCC will then have to the provided information most likely from the medical school attended (or where he did his housemanship which I think won't be the case). Are you in the health field?! Cheers! |

Hello Justmellow, Yes, I’m in the health field. I’m a medical doctor. It’s important to know what it takes to get into the medical profession over there, that’s why I’m emphasizing on it. Of course he doesn’t need all those exams for permanent residence, he needs them to be able to practice as a doctor (as I stated) It’s good that he has all the information now. So he can make a wise decision. Japaing and going to do a job you won’t be happy with when one gets there is not a pleasant situation. I know a few doctors who are doing jobs they are not happy with there. But of course if he’s okay with not practicing in Canada then he can go ahead with the express entry. Hello gurus in the house. I'm new here !!please I need your advise because right now I'm confused. Have finished my masters here in Nigeria but I'd don't have my certificate yet. I wish to do my PHd immediately after my Masters in Canada and the deadline for applications is January 15. And the possibility of getting my certificate by then is 4/10. Please my bro/sis in the house what should I do..? P.s : PhD in Canada is for fall 2021 if I miss this chance that will be 2022(fall) again. What should I do please? |

Hi all, I have a couple of questions. Do we have any updates from the first and second batches of PPR recipients awaiting port return from VFS/VACs in Nigeria (Lagos or Abuja)? Any tips/links on what next after SP/LOI issued? Do's and Don't when planning trip? Life in Canada tips! Thanks. |
Akannitommy: 2:11pm On Nov 09, 2020 |
Hi, Go ahead and secure a supervisor for your PhD research then put in your application. Get student copies of your transcripts and a letter of introduction from your department/registrar (to whom it may concern). The worse case scenario, you will get a conditional offer if a copy of your degree certificates is required. But usually, what is required are the transcripts and not the certificate for ission application. Best wishes Bosede24: 1 Like |

Iceman2020:I don't think so, since the evention of Readiness plan, everyone who has received got their schools in the readiness list either before or on the updated list. If your school is on the list and you haven't gotten a reply, it either your application is still within the processing time and some concerns are been examined or you just applied in late Sept or October. just wait for your final decision. I stand to be corrected |

Akintommy thanks for the info, I really appreciate But the schools I want doesn't necessarily need supervisor before applying. Thanks a bunch ,I just hope everything works out before the deadline. I'm also thinking of doing another Masters if the transcripts are not ready by then...what do you think? do I have chance? |
afrischolars1: 2:37pm On Nov 09, 2020 |
Bosede24: You dont need your masters certificate to start your PhD ission process in Canada. You need your undergrad and masters transcripts. |
fratermathy(m): 2:41pm On Nov 09, 2020 |
Bosede24: That's not a good idea. |
Iceman2020: 2:48pm On Nov 09, 2020 |
None of all these stated apply to me. I want to believe it's being done in batches. NairaLuck: |
afrischolars1: 3:24pm On Nov 09, 2020 |
Bosede24: Do another masters in Canada in the same field you want to research for your PhD. It gives you the opportunity to acquire very vital research skills Nigerian universities dont teach you. You can then carry the research to PhD level. Also, after the masters in Canada (even b4 the PhD) you can file for permanent residence with additional points for your Canadian education. Whats your field? DM if you want to chat about it. |
