Igbo and weird customs I have witnessed two of such dealings with their own ladies. They are heartless. When my Landlady's daughter's husband died, the husband's siblings took her to the couple's bedroom, allowed her to take her clothes and jewelleries sent her and her children packing, and sized the husband's businesses. This lady is a Master degree holder. The husband would not allow her to work. God forbid any of my children bringing yamirin home for marriage.

I have a friend from Kogi whose brothers took away property from their brother wife.

Same story happened in Ogoja Cross River State. It happens, it's not about tribe.

Dont think it is a tribe issue. I hear same happens within marriage of same tribe also. It happens all over the country. It's either the full story is not being disclosed by madam or the man's family are just bad people.

I read through her story and I felt bad, the in-laws were wicked and should be dealt with accordingly but her bringing tribalism to this is uncalled for. Many Igbo women have suffered in the hands of their in-law as a result of their husbands demise though they were Igbos. There several examples of this in the past so she is not the first nor the only woman to have suffered this fate. Let her do her best via court proceedings to get back her properties, thank you.
