Nigeria has been wanting Niger Republic to use the ports since the Jonathan istration. Niger republic exports tons uranium, gold and other agricultural products. Benin Republic has been planning to build rails with them for decades for that reason.

The question is why didn't they connect
Lagos - Port Harcourt - Aba - calabar and
Aba - Makurdi - Adamawa - Niger republic

Fulanis will invade this country!

When Igbos become president, they'll connect a direct flight to Tel-Aviv or Jerusalem.

Then the next Yoruba man as President will lay a rail track to Benin republic.

Meanwhile, there is no standard gauge rail lines in the eastern side of the Niger Delta from where Nigeria gets most of its crude oil proceeds.

PMB and ethnoreligious bigotry are like six and half dozen.

And how are you sure this is their plan?

can't they build Lagos - Port Harcourt - Aba - calabar rail first?

and link.
Aba - Makurdi - taraba - Kano - Yobe - Niger Republic

or
Aba - Makurdi - Taraba - Adamawa - Niger Republic?
In July 2016, China and Nigeria agreed to a $11-billion contract to build the Lagos-Calabar coastal railway. It will stretch for 1400 km (871 mi) and is expected to open in record time, before the end of 2018.

this is $11 billion o!

It is not. It will link Niger Republic to Lagos ports and increase revenue from customs duties. It is more viable than wasting money building rail lines to the five gully erosion ravaged states that will end up swallowed by big gullies.

Eyin Omode yii, eede beru Olohun. Fear God nah! But, I think you are right, no need wasting money in gully erosion republic of drugs and crime.

How many times will they tell u south south and south east are two different regions and the oil belongs to south south not the south east so I don't know what u mean by eastern Niger Delta region where most oil are gotten from, what oil do u have in the east?
