I personally think the above might actually be one of the qualities that endeared Harris to Biden, like he said yesterday.... He wants her to be the last person in the room, when he makes important decisions, someone who can look him straight in the eye and make her opinions known, criticize him (privately), if he makes the wrong decisions, not an "all yes member", a force for balance in the istration. Not someone who lords over everything, someone who don't take responsibility for any of his actions.
