I will answer this question from what I saw in my mum while growing. My mum had a business while my dad was a contractor/property manager. My Dad paid our school fees and bought our textbooks and every other educational expenses, he bought us Christmas clothes but my mum took care of the feeding expenses of the whole family and bought random clothes for us. She also gave us money for books we need the next day at school if my Dad wouldn't return early, till she had an accident and couldn't operate her business for months and it crashed.
