For me Toyota is over hyped and Honda ball t issue is the reason why I'm not going to them, infact I prefer Hyundai/KIA to Honda/Toyota... By the way I have no probs upping my budget contrary to what u said..but other things are there for me to put money...thanks for ur contribution..I really appreciate

It's better to buy a common car as a utility car, it means the parts will be common and cheaper.

If you are looking for uncommon luxurious cars, you can buy Lamborghinis, ferraris whose parts can only be imported when it breaks down.

Toyota, honda and VW Golf still remain the best and rugged for Nigerian roads.

Really? Pls kindly enlighten me the more, I didn't want to the bandwagon of Toyota/Honda,
please tell me more about the Nissan why u said is a No Go area... Thanks

Nissan has electrical issues that turn off the engine while driving or refusing to start while off.

In fact, the steering can lock and drive you towards a direction that is not your choice.

Car gurus in the house please kindly help me suggest which car would fit my budget,
I am actually planning to buy my first car as my family is growing big and moving from point A to B is becoming stressful for us, hence I decided to get a very good & sharp Nigerian used car with a budget of 500K max.

I want a car that is very durable, reliable, fuel efficient, cheap and accessible parts, meanwhile I don't want Toyota or Honda as they are too common on Nigerian roads & I also believe they re not the only best car options we can get. Though I am looking at Nissan Almera 2001, Nissan primera 2000 to 2002, VW Golf 3 and Mazda cars from 1999 to 2002 models.

Please kindly help me as I need your car expertise to decide which car to go for ASAP.

Thanking you in advance

Go to Innoson, beg them to manufacture a car for you at that amount.

Sincerely, you wouldn't stay happy for long with a car below N1m.

IF U LIKE YOURSELF, PLS UP YOUR BUDGET AND GO FOR A CLEAN USED. TOYOTA CAMRY 2001 DROP LIGHT. OR HONDA CIVIC 2003. THIS TWO CARS WONT DISSAPOINT YOU. IF THEY Have GOOD ENGINE AND GEAR AND FIRST BODY.
WITH #550-#600K YOU WOULD GET A GOOD ONE OR GET AND EOD. BUT ALWAYS HAVE LEG PROBLEMS.

DONT GO FOR NISSAN OR GOLF CARS FOR YOUR FIRST CAR, U WILL END UP REGRETING

The reason the honda and toyota is so much in nigeria is cos its a good car. first rule of car purchase is buying whats much on the road. there is a reason why everyone keeps buying it, and for 500k max budget im seeing bride and heavy requirement in your search. u dont want to buy what everyone is using because you are too big to drive toyota or honda?? cars that aint so much on the road have limited car part. cos people in ladipo wont stock up their stores with parts that hard to sell. u need to rewire your logic about cars.

Good afternoon OP,

To be honest with you, toyota is mostly the best option for you with your budget. The fact that is mostly used justifies it efficiency in Nigeria. Well, you can check on CARS45 website for different cars in budget. If you have problem navigating the website you can send mail.

grin With 500k you dont deserve a car yet. I bought a care for exactly 550k, and it was not a very good decision then. A 500k car could make you broker than you were when you bought it. However 500k is a great start if you want to make massive increase.

With N500,000, you can buy a good car in Nigeria. You can get tokunbo golf, and some older Toyota versions. Well, depending on what you need the car for.

For a complete price list of cheapest cars in Nigeria, visit here.

TOYOTA LOOKS COMMON COS THERE COMPONENTS AND PARTS ARE EVERYWHERE AND IT ALSO HAS A DO IT YOURSELF MAINTENANCE WHEN IT COMES TO THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS.

PLS GO FOR A TOYOTA AT THAT AMOUNT , U WILL ALWAYS NOT REGRET IT.

THEY ARE RUGGED FOR NIGERIAN ROADS.

CARS LIKE OPEL, MAZDA, NISSAN, FORD, KIA. WILL TROUBLE YOU IF NOT PROPERLY MAINTAINED.

IF U DONT LIKE TOYOTA, GO FOR LEXUS OR HYUNDAI. BUT I DOUBT THAT PRICE WILL BE OK FOR THIS TWO BRANDS. WITH #500K

I will advise you go for TOYOTA.
