How Did You Obtain Your Permanent Residency In Your Current Country? (76273 Views)

I did through marriage. Married in Abuja at AMAC registry Gariki and moved to the U.K. 2months later where I’ve since naturalised. Can still recall how the guys majority northerners where stunned looking at I and my young Caucasian bride all through the day, begging we give them money with the assumption she was rich when she was still a student at the time.

Mine was a long and tortuous 10 years. First arrived the UK as student in 2009 on a 1 year visa for top up degree. I renewed the visa for another 18 months to complete my Masters degree. Then renewed for another 2 years on post-study work visa . After, this I had to renew my residence for another 3 years under the Entreprenuer visa. After that period, I extended the Entrepreneur visa for another 2 years. It was in the middle of the 2 years visa that qualified for PR. I am now in the middle of processing my citizenship/port. Wow.. it wasn't easy but it is worth it. 39 Likes 3 Shares |

My own G7 country citizenship process: F1 visa => OPT (2 years post college stay) => H1-B visa (Employment based sponsorship) => Green Card => Citizenship I was born in Nigeria and my parents live in Nigeria. I don't consider myself a Nigerian at heart because i never fit in into their way of doing things and thinking right from a very young age. Reason i had the foresight to bounce from that shit hole at a young age of 18 and this was back in 2000. I knew Nigeria had no future. 11 Likes |

RuudVanNisteroy: Nigerians always complaining about their leaders as if they are from Mars. Your leadership is made up of people from your country, your state, your local government, your village, your family. What you have as leadership is a microcosm of what you are. Change your way of thinking and your leadership will also change. 13 Likes 1 Share |
