I was told to submit a PhD research proposal to the Unilag's Estate management department. Should I be weary of anything?

You dont need to do any PGD, You can do the career change directly. But make sure you finished your education as far back as 2017 to be eligible.

for energy, what exact course are you looking at, so I can make suggestions. ,

You are free to make suggestions sir...I graduated with 2:2 .
Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi where i graduated from, offer the course option as energy studies for masters (M engg) ; I don't know about UniLag... Suggestions are welcome on better options.

Msc Com sci requires Bsc Computer sci. With Bsc Maths, you are eligible for Pgd Comp sci, except you wan to go for Masters in IT.

However, in today's IT economy - MIT is more practical than Msc computer science, except you go abroad for such studies.

Yes awesomershal , you need 5 years experience to apply for this, sometimes having 3-4 years exp could be accepted.
