Take away laziness and the penchant for easy oil money from the southsouth and southeast, many states can actually survive without federal allocation. They survived as autonomous communities in the past. I am from a non oil producing region but hate this idea that people should not control their resources.

Bayelsa and Delta cannot survive, Delta State IGR dropped since the exit of shell and Uduaghan emptied the state before leaving also Uduaghan left huge debt for his successor. Bayelsa spend huge money on payment of salary as it is the major employer of labour. Secondly infrastructural development in Bayelsa state is more expensive than any other state in Nigeria due to the topography of the state.
When they mentioned Riverrs and Akwa Ibom, the were mostly talking about oil economy and not IGR. What IGR does Akwa Ibom have?

Though Akwa Ibom is on the list, I don't feel it is a true member as its IGR is heavily dependent on the oil sector. It is too exposed to that sector.

Lagos and Rivers I believe are the true champions.

Can the FG survive without oil money and VAT?

Some people just make it seem like the FG is struggling to make money and spoon feeding the states, while it is the other way round. The FG takes all the money from the states and redistribute to all including majority of states that can't survive on its own.

Ogun state that people are shouting just as the Aregbe governor did previously, was the first state to owe workers' salary when the allocations to states reduced due to falling oil prices.

Why so preoccupied with Biafra? There's talk concerning all states of the country, but your own is Biafra!

When you read comments on topics likes this and experience first hand the blasphemous level of ignorance in the youth today it does make you wonder...

Is Nigeria a country?

Is it true that there should always be hope regardless not your situation?

Relived to be a dual national.

What about Ogun, Delta and Anambra States?

Ex-governor James Ibori and his corrupt legacies in Delta state will not make Delta state to survive without federal allocation.

The Ibori boys are still holding power in Delta state especially when one talk about the following persons.

Governor Okowa
Ex-governor Emmanuel Uduaghan
Peter Nwaoboshi

Right now, only Lagos can survive without allocation. If Rivers and Akwa Ibom can survive without allocation then it means Bayelsa and Delta cn also survive.

I'm surprised they did not mention Anambra because that state can survive without allocation. Infact, every state can survive wthout allocatio as long as they put their thinking cap on and get to work.

yup.. def on point. If you allow exploitation of resources and IGR generation then every Niger Delta state barring C/River and Lagos can finance their own budgets lol.

I mean Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa lifting 300k bbls each while Akwa Abasi Ibom would be doing 550k bopd. Also factoring PHC as a regional hub I think most of them will be fine.

Though, one must it that the recent oil crises exposed all the states. Starting from those who are entirely reliant on FG for oil money redistributions to the Niger Delta states who have not properly diversified and Lagos which isn't really an industrial center, more so Commercial ( services sectors and 'buying and selling' not really fabricating/manufacturing). With 90% of the imports financed by oil derived dollars. Essentially this country go hear am at the next bust cycle. Same tori..

Letter to Niger State, How will a state with two Hydro dam ( Kainji and shiroro dam) can't boast of 6hours of light in a day even the GRA of the state can't boast about that, And the governor is not saying anything in person of Yahaya Sani Bello

But here in Kainji we do enjoy 18-22 hours of electricity everyday, though it hasn't been consistent recently due to windy downpours

You really can't say, yet you felt the need to type.

Those states have high IGR which is why they can currently survive without federal allocation.

Like it was in the past.

Aregbesola boasted more than this, that the state can survive without FG allocation and he tried it by fighting GEJ, but less than six months he could not stand it and the half salary technique started.

Osun has nothing, Kwara, Ekiti is even worst, then Oyo has little but can't survive.

See mumu talk. Can Federal survive without the resources they get from states in the ND like Delta, Bayelsa and Crossriver?

If anyone is making such conclusion, they should not take state owned resources as that of the FG before they conclude.
