Yes. From the day the money hit your .
Again it's not really from the day you started except it's your first time. e.g. you might have some funds in your due for withdrawal and you make another deposit, the new deposit will have to stay for 30days too before you can redeem without penalty

Morning all,

I have a quick question to get your perspectives on "to liquidate some funds from MMF" vs "change some USD".

Lets say i have an urgent need for N2m today and i have a MMF funded in excess of that and also old some $$ cash at hand (which is needed in future).

In a few weeks, naira will be available to replace either of the funds used of the two options above.

Option 1: Liquidate 2m from the MMF , top-up the back when naira funds become available. i think current MMF interest rate ~ 12%

Option 2: Sell of some USD to meet the need, buy back USD at parallel market rate when naira funds become available (n.b: spread btw USD buy & rates)

Option 3: Maybe you should just give a soft loan for 2wks smiley and problem solved.

Thanks for your input.

good afternoon, I went to stanbic bank to activate treasury bill but a guy working in the bank told me to do investment (money market) I told him I will check back. my question is how does money market operate , which is the best money market or treasury bill, thanks
elothaddi(m): 6:04pm On Oct 22, 2019
Both are ok and the best one depends on how often you will need that particular fund. For MM, your interest is credited everyday and you can liquidate any amount from it provided the first payment to them has stayed more than 30 days. Any subsequent payment can be withdrawn anytime. Lastly the interest rate is always slightly lower than TB. For Treasury Bill, it has different durations from 60days, 90days, 180days, 365 days etc and your interest is credited to you that same day. You can still liquidate anytime but it comes with some charges and you may most likely not get your money immediately in case there is an emergency need for the funds. Get more information online.

Good day.
Please there is too much jargon here that I am still trying to understand.
Please a quick question to the pros, if I invest 200k in stanbic mutual fund for 3 months, what's the predicted earning at the current rates?

Please note that subsequent payments would still stay for 30days too before you can withdraw without penalty.

So if I had 1m and then topped up with 5k would a withdrawal of 5k be liable to penalty? Bearing in mind that I had a balance of 1m?

Not at all but withdrawal of 1m,5k will attract penalty on the 5k only

For those with big money in millions, tens and hundreds of million, it can be considered an investment. But for those with small money in tens and hundreds of thousand, it can only considered as a way of savings and currency/ capital preservation.

nne eh. While I agree that this is a great way to secure the future with funds that you ain't having any designs on, I don't think this is for me. My 200k is my home and abroad and I need it to grow, say 20% per month. Sadly only few avenues are available for that kind of growth. 8 wonder how I will keep 200k and after 3 months I get 6k on it. I would rather leave it in the savings where it was. Cost of stress to move funds to anew trading platform sef is equivalent to the 6k

Bros, if you even see an Authorised and Regulated Investment Platform that can give you 5% of the Invested Capital per month, please avail me of the opportunity. I haven't seen a legitimate one that can guarantee u of 5% interest per month with minimum risk.

That's so not true. Have been operating my money market with them since last year and Axa has never done same day subscription for me. Even when I subscribe as early as 8am that day. I have tried with the app and bank transfer with my name and id and it's always the same Story.

For me Stanbic still remains the best, same day subscription and redemption.

FBNQuest Capital is terrible. Subscription takes a minimum of 48hours, that's if u are lucky a enough to do it on a weekday and not too close to the weekend (Friday), in that case it takes more than three days. Redemption is even worse, sometimes u have to follow up with emails and calls. It's borderline terrible.

Hi. Please can I pm you? I need some guidance about MMF
