2. Classism- rich vs poor. Note the similarity and reference to the class struggle in the dark knight rises.

Felt kinda slow at the beginning but then it picked up and it was crazy Also, it will be very interesting to see how they handle the sequel because there is no way there isn't going to be a sequel and that "pearls" scene, oof. Now I understand why phrases like "character study" were thrown around. Overall, I agree with Jerome's rating.

Lol, Funny. Joaquin Phoenix doesn't do sequels or Trilogy. He just does his standalone and then moves on. That's why he puts so much energy in his films. It will be pretty tough to get Joaquin to reprise his role in a sequel, he is a stubborn man, when it comes to sequels.

That's IF Joker does SUPER well at the box office and relatively well with critics

Besides WB classified it as a one off
It doesn't possess continuity with other DCEU flicks so a sequel is nigh impossible, ONLY EXCEPT those probabilities I mentioned above is seriously considered.

Often, when movies are overhyped, they culminate into a dumpster fire. Joker is one of the few times I truly appreciated the hype. This film is DARK. With masterful directing, awe-inspiring acting from Phoenix, brilliant OST and cinematography, the plot is crafted in ways to make a person feel dirty, and very uncomfortable. I know I was. It's hard to watch at times, very cringey, but all so mesmerizing, that you'd be hard pressed to blink an eye. In short, it's an emotional rollercoaster in that it's very emotive and dynamic.

Overall, it's a masterpiece, and one of the best movies of the year IMO. It's an astonishing story that calls for more... a sequel, perhaps? I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Phoenix's Joker, we may very well see him in one of the new Batman films... I can but dream!

Your rating is on point, and on per with what fans have been saying in contrast to critics little wonder the IMDB is at an astonishing 9.2/10 why the RT rating is 69% (Still fairly ok in my opinion).

On the matter of a sequel...Boy we can sure dream! Joaquin Phoenix hates any role that will span into a series or sequels. This man auditioned for the role of Red skull , Dr. Strange to name a few but he overlook these roles because couldn't be bothered with movies going on and on. That's why DC agreed for a Standalone "Joker" movie with very little ties to the current DCEU set up, and know no word on Jared leto contract been terminated so he might he yet reprise his role as the Joker in future DCEU titles, and this "Joker" Movie is an origin story, so any further installment will be him meeting the Dark Knight of Gotham and no word on him been on RP's Batman movies yet...But we can certainly hope and dream

Am just glad this movie proved critics wrong and Joaquin Phoenix showed exceptional brilliance like he was born for this role so is time to enjoy this masterpiece as many times as possible and "Put on a happy face"
