All these measures would have been perfect if there were no or very few saboteurs in the system. Let them buy the most advanced gadgets in the world and place them everywhere, it will still not stop the personnel that gain from smuggling activities in turning the blind eye or simply engaging actively for financial rewards. E.g, are there no cameras at our airports, yet we are are travelling, it is right under this cameras that airport personnel take bribes or force you to give them even when you have nothing to hide in the fear of being delayed and missing your flight. I don't know how, where or when we will make things right in our dear nation 3 Likes |

osazsky: The President's medical pilgrimages to foreign countries are condemnable and if this were to be the topic I would have condemned it unequivocally. But, may I advise that you learn how to address people seeing that you are promoting your business on your signature; you don't know who your next biggest customer could be. How you arrived at the phrase of "your master" baffles me. Good luck. 3 Likes |

The only thing that annoys me about this border closure is the failure of the government to plan how to tackle the possible effects it might have on the ordinary Nigerians especially,in the area of rice rice supply and distribution. How can a bag of local rice rise up to 17- 18 k from 12-13k and you are telling us that you are discouraging snuggling .How you want to address the distribution chains we don't know . Shouldn't a sensitive and sensible government considered this before the border closure ,? Seems they don't care bout us .

ORIENTATION101:The mistake was simply because you are also a mistake. if I ask you to show me where Ghana is owing Nigeria, you will mistakenly show me another two years news. proving further you are stupid and mistakenly made. In economics, A quarter of a year is enough to balance trade and correct abnormalities. but you will mistakenly not know. 1 Like |

Our government again with its foolish, knee-jerk, cart-before-the-horse actions & reactions. Those in govt are not thoughtful enough to find real solutions to problems but find it easier to just take blanket actions like banning things. Ban Okada, ban forex for 41 items, ban forex for food/milk, ban tinted car windows, ban this and that..are they are too foolish to that these bans have never solved the problem? With our highly porous borders from time immemorial, border closure has NEVER solved the smuggling issue in Nigeria. It just creates avenues for those responsible for its enforcement to profit while also yielding new smuggling routes. If you don't produce something in your country, banning it's importation is what you do after you have promoted local production to the level of self-sufficiency. To think PMB signed the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCTA) in July, but closed land borders to free movement of goods in August! Says a lot about his governance style. 1 Like 1 Share |
